Megan and Leroy didn’t plan their wedding. Not one little part of it. They left it all in the hands of their trusted friend, Georgie, who after witnessing a conversation, where the couple decided they were fed up with all the decision-making just wanted to be married already, offered to do all the planning for them!
The couple gave Georgie their budget, a date, and a guest list to work with and walked away. Georgie then planned every last detail, and on the day, the couple didn’t even know where their wedding would be held!
The surprise location was the Apollonian Hotel at Boreen Point, and Katja Anton was the photographer intrusted with the task of capturing all the joyous moments of the day.
“(We were engaged) about four years… first we wanted to get married in New Zealand, then Bali; it was a big wedding, then a small wedding, then it was all too hard and we decided on nothing! One day out at a friend’s house, Leory just said that he was fed up of this whole wedding decision making all he wanted to do was to call me his wife… a good friend, Georgie, said she’d organise it, all we had to do was turn up! What started as a joke became the wedding of the year!”
“Dancing down the isle with the bridal party was awesome. We used to do jazz-ballet growing up together and choreographed something the night before – the groomsmen were all dancing too!” “The girls started (planning) in February and the wedding was in September – I wanted lots of colour and fun!”
