Peonie-topped Ruffle Wedding Cake

I have fallen helplessly in love with another woman’s cake. I know it’s wrong, as one should not covet another woman’s cake… oh wait, no cake is fine. I defy you not to fall in love with it, too. This two-tier beauty may be small in stature, but it makes a big impression!

Skye from Sunny Girl Cakes is responsible for this outstanding gorgeousness. I love its pretty ruffles on the lower tier, and filigree detail on the top tier. The fresh peonies on top just make it all the more spectacular and we hear it was a big hit at Jason and Rebecca’s Maleny wedding.

I have tried and tested more than one Sunny Girl Cakes creation, and so I can attest to their deliciousness to match their beauty. The couple chose their fillings very wisely. The top tier was white chocolate mud cake teamed with white chocolate ganache and the base tier was the ever-popular cherry ripe mud cake with the chocolate ganache. I’m quite sure there’s none left, which is breaking my heart as I type. I was so willing to track Jason and Rebecca down…

Skye’s design was based around other styling details present in Jason and Rebecca’s wedding. The cake ruffles were reminiscent of the bride’s dress, and the pink ribbon with diamonte and doily-like filigree on the top tier matched in with their invitations.
