When Aussie girl, Kirsten, met British lad, Tom, on a trip to Whistler, Canada, they never imagined their chance meeting would result in their destination wedding on the beautiful Sunshine Coast at stunning ceremony and reception venue, Weddings at Tiffany’s.
The Brisbane couple absolutely fell in love with the venue at first sight, and knew this particular location in the heart of Maleny would wow their guests travelling from the UK to share in their special day.
Kirsten wore a positively toothsome non-traditional floral printed gown, and allowed her bridesmaids to choose their own mis-matched dresses, which looked absolutely fantastic together.
The wedding itself was heartening and loads of fun, from the vows they wrote themselves to the bridal party shenanigans on their Kombi ride around Maleny to dancing up a storm at the reception. Make sure you watch the short 10-minute film by BXCSMXTH at the bottom of this article – it’s so darn great, I can’t even come up with a word to describe it.

“My mum and sister came dress shopping with me and I took Tom’s mum and one of his sisters to my final dress fitting after they arrived in Australia from England.” “My wedding-planning resources were Pinterest, Style me Pretty, Polka Dot Bride, The Bride’s Tree – plus magazines like Cosmo Bride, Hello May and White Magazine.” “We had family and friends coming from the UK for our wedding so a great location, venue and food were important to us – we wanted to show everyone a good time!” “Having so many of our family and friends travel from the UK to Australia for our wedding meant the absolute world to us. It was such an emotional day and we felt like we really brought our two families worlds together as one.”
“I wanted to wear something a bit different and I really wanted my girlfriends to have fun and feel amazing in what they wore. They each chose their dress styles and colours and it all looked fantastic together!” “Funnily enough when we started planning we were thinking about an industrial, warehouse wedding. We stumbled upon Tiffany’s and fell in love immediately – we booked on the spot. The venue was so gorgeous it didn’t really need much decoration.” “We wrote our own wedding vows. They were really hard for both of us to get through but it felt so good to say them out loud to each other in front of the people we love.” “One of our oldest family friends drove my dad and I to the ceremony while the girls and guys went in the Kombi. It was a special trip with lots of memories on the way to the ceremony.” “The very best part of our wedding was sealing the deal with a kiss and finally being married! …Then going off to have our photos and just relaxing and having fun with our friends.” “We had a big bridal party and sharing the day with them was loads of fun – we felt so supported and just surrounded in love.” “We have quite different personalities, but we complement each other and we are a team. We try hard not to take each other for granted and make sure we put effort into maintaining our relationship.”“My advice to brides: Have your wedding at Tiffany’s and let your Bridesmaids wear something they love! In all seriousness though, think past the wedding to your marriage and remember the reasons you are getting married! Also – get a photographer who is fun and feels like a friend and videographer who can capture the stuff you miss – the day simply flies by.”
