Weekly Round Up

Strewth! It's Australia Day weekend! You know what that means – barbeques with forgotten sauce bottles, beach swims with zinced up noses, buckets of prawns and newspaper to wrap the stinky remains before trying to find any other bin to put them in but your own, and of course the only day of the year where everyone joins in for cricket at the park, no matter the skill level. And the soundtrack to these festivities will obviously be whatever happens to be included in the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown. I think you really need to be an Aussie to catch on to any of the above, and that's why I'm glad I am one.

I hope you all enjoy your Australia Day, whether here or abroad, whether born and bred or new to our white sandy shores. Get your chompin' gear 'round a snag, ya Galah!

Just incase you missed it…

My Instagram Journeys

Last weekend, I had the distinct pleasure and great honour of being actually in a wedding, instead of simply writing about them! I travelled to beautiful Wollongong for my dear friend Talina's weddingwith the precious cargo of the photographer in tow, and I got my Instagram on in a big way! Here are a small selection of the photos I shared of my travels and my bridesmaid experience.

This was my third time being in a wedding party, and it was a truly lovely experience. I was blessed with the most cruisy bride, who was nothing but pleasant from go to whoa, and even amidst serious last minute dress disasters was cool as a cucumber; everything was just so easy. I can't tell you how nice it is to have a fun stress-free day as a bridesmaid. Oh, and my bridesmaid dress is now my favourite article of clothing – it's so gorgeous!

My word of advice to brides everywhere – take a leaf out of Talina's book and go with the flow, because at the end of the day you will be married to the man of your dreams. Your friends and family will have been there to celebrate with you, and in the grand scheme of things, that's really all that matters.

Emma Nayler was the photographer tripping down with me, and she took some seriously drool-worthy shots of the day, which featured all three of Talina and her now husband James' fur babies. You have to check out the sneak peek she put up on Facebook! Here is one just to get you started…

Congratulations Talina and James!
