From an outdoors-in vibe to rich decadence with a vintage feel, there are countless ways to truss up your wedding reception table setting to give your wedding something a little bit unique. 

The team at Beedazzled Events have proven they can create any kind of style with the space and decor on hand. They took one table, one set of chairs at one venue, Top of the Hill in Maleny, and designed four equally beautiful, yet completely different tablescapes fit for a wedding reception.

Forest Dining

Greenery hung from the chandelier,  the reception table setting laden with tree trunk candle holders, rustic bread parcels tied with string and yet more greenery. The forest indoors has nature meeting high end style with gold-rimmed plates and crystal glassware. 

Vintage Decadence 

Overlooking the rolling hills of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, a cosy scene awaits. Snug amongst the faux fur throw, indulging in a grazing plate with a cheeky drink in hand… This just might be what heaven looks like.  Indoors the opulence continues with suede tablecloth setting amidst the plush decor of Top of the Hill. Brass vases and candleholders alongside crystal with rich berry tones and royal purple give a vintage feel for the wedding reception table setting. 

Drifting Together

Coastal vibes with tassled runner and driftwood candleholders, alongside a classically beach colour of aqua in comfy cushions and charger plates for the table settings. 

Lavender Daze

Forget “fresh as a daisy”, lavender teamed with white blooms and greenery alongside natural wood decor makes for  crisp outdoor wedding reception styling.  The tablescape is grounded with a hessian runner, and employs other natural elements, like the centrepieces of pillar candles in large vases and bowls filled with stones and tiny succulents.

Lovely Sunshine Coast bride, Megan, planned a beautiful vintage beach-themed wedding on a budget. With a little help from family and friends, her DIY efforts started with the invitations, continued with putting together bombonieres and even went so far as arranging the flowers and hair styling.

The pair were married at Kawana beach under a bamboo canopy the bride and her father constructed together, and then held their modestly catered reception in their church hall. As a very sweet touch, the couple surprised the bride’s father, a long-time Kombi van enthusiast with a super rad mode of transportation from Deluxe Kombie Service that really went with the vintage beach theme, too!

“The best part of my day was marrying my best friend and love of my life, which I know is corny, but true.”

Biggest splurge: Flowers. I had lots of flowers!

Best money-saver: Lots of DIY

Bridal gown: Alfred Angelo sweetheart neckline tulle dress with an A-line skirt bought from Casars Elegance  in Maroochydore. It cost $900 and I had alterations done by Marilyn Crystelle Bridal.

Accessories: I had a brooch from each of my grandmother’s, one on my dress and the other on my bouquet.  My veil was my mum’s and with the beautiful embroidery on the edging it was stunning!

Shoes: Gold glitter ballet flats from Payless Shoes

Bridesmaid dresses: Cream lace dress from Cotton On

Bridesmaids’ accessories: Belt made from ribbon I added myself.  Flower girls crown made by myself.

Groom and Groomsmen’s suit and shoes: They all already owned black pants and white shirt and Matt’s grandmother made the vests.

DIY: I made the stationary, cake, arranged my flowers, decorating, all our hair and favours.

Love birds Kylie and Daniel met through mutual friends when Kylie moved into Daniel’s street. 10 years later, they were engaged to be married, and spent the next year planning their love bird-themed wedding at Novotel Twin Waters Resort.

Their mutual adoration for each other and their three pets lead them to the love bird theme, with a classic duck egg blue and white colour palette. This styling perfectly suited the coastal location of Novotel Twin Waters Resort, which boasts its own lagoon beach, and is handy to the pristine and secluded North Shore, perfect for a bridal party (adorned in the sweetest faux fur stoles!) photo shoot.

Kylie and Daniel’s pretty ceremony was officiated in front of their 110 guests by Kristy Ellis of Weddings with Kristy, a popular young celebrant on the Sunshine Coast. It was really quite sweet, Kylie had her stepfather walk her halfway down the aisle, where they met her father, who took her the rest of the way to her groom, awaiting her arrival eagerly with a grin from ear to ear. After their heartfelt vows, both of their mothers were given the special honour of signing the marriage certificate as their official witnesses to their nuptials. 

The reception was held at Lily’s on the Lagoon, the resort’s restaurant set in isolation from the rest of the property atop the idyllic lagoon. A very romantic spot, allowing relaxed celebration, beautiful food and gorgeous styling by Sunshine Coast wedding decorators, Beedazzled Events. 

First Class Wedding Photography captured stunning photos throughout the day from start to finish with the large bridal party, and you can see just how much fun was had by all in the images below.

Whether you're a real foodie, or more of a beans from can kinda gal, who needs a little help with imagining up a menu, you will get along just fine in the hands of Head Chef, Darren Frankling, and his catering team. Darren has received many accolades for his specialty dishes, made using only the freshest local ingredients.

Catering options include cocktail, buffet and formal a la carte menus, and Darren will even whip up a hamper of drinks and nibbles for the bridal party to refuel during their photo session between the ceremony and reception. Beedazzled Events will tailor menus to suit any theme or budget.
