The Mason Jar has had its day in the sun. Now it’s time for a more modest jar. A jar we all know, but seldom pay homage to. A jar that may appear too small in stature to warrant much attention at all. A jar with very few reuse prospects.

Usually fated to be a mere button or paperclip holder, this jar has far too long been underestimated and overlooked, yet its prominent presence in many a home across the nation – nay, across the world – is evident. It has brought inside it much-needed supply of emergency food in the event of either occasional (or in my case, slightly more frequent) laziness or lack of talent for creating own delicacies of this nature. And frankly, it deserves a little more respect, and the opportunity to dream big and follow its ambitions.

I am talking, of course, about the baby food jar. Can I get a hallelujah from the ones with the small humans, please! Often my saviour in years gone by, so boy do I know how fast they pile up in the recycling bin. Anyone else either have or recall lines of these cute little guys on your counter top, just screaming out for a use, only to be cast aside come bin day?

As luck would have it, we once again can rely on the amazing talents of the peops over at Oh Happy Day! We just love this paint-dipped baby food jar DIY for Sunshine Coast weddings! It’s so simple, and really, what could be cuter than tiny, mini flower jars on your reception table as decoration!

Find the full DIY instructions right about here and give a baby jar a future.

PS. We didn’t mean it, we still love you, Mason Jars!

Gosh, we have had some interesting weather here on the Sunshine Coast this week! Cyclone warnings and sudden changes and all! Last Saturday’s brides must have been thrilled with their beautiful, fine day, though. I only hope this coming weekend’s brides are just as lucky.

If your wedding is coming up this weekend, I have a nice story for you to lift your spirits. On Matt and Mandi’s wedding day, not only rain, but a cyclone was predicted. However, as you can see, it turned out to be an absolutely perfect day!

A sweet ceremony was held at the “cute little church”, St Matthews Anglican in Gheerulla. Followed by their country vintange wedding reception at Kennilworth Homestead, which was nothing short of impeccably styled, creative and fun. Their 120 guests were able to enjoy live music to all hours and wander back to their on-site accommodation only when their dancing shoes had worn thin, as the homestead has ample accommodation from a self-contained cottage to spa rooms to bunkhouse options for up to 120 guests. Perfect if you have out-of-towners attending, or just want everybody to kick up their heels and relax at your Sunshine Coast wedding.

You can also rest easy with this particular location, because Kenilworth Homestead has several function rooms and a barn that are all booked out by default for your wedding day, so if wet weather does become an issue, there are plenty of Plan B options available to you.

These beautiful images from their special day were taken by Bella Designs.

If you're anything like me, you've started your Monday with all manner of promises to yourself for the week. For me that means healthy eating, packing my son's lunches the night before school, instead of the morning of, which invariably leads to us running late. There are sometimes promises of mid-week facials and redoing my shellac nails before they start to flake, instead of two days after they do and I've already had myself a peeling party. There are keeping tidy promises, more exercise promises, (blog posts out on time promises…), and all of them I try my best to complete each and every week.

Some, however, end up being pushed forward to the following week. Things that I give myself the impression can wait. Even if my anxiety levels rise a little more as each Sunday rolls around and the usual put off task is going back on the list.

So yeah, I know how it's done. Brides, you cannot run. You cannot hide from me. I've got your number, and I know exactly what you're putting off.
