Creating a relaxing, yet lavish vibe by the Kawana Island canal was the aim for one crack team of Sunshine Coast wedding industry pros. This is the absolute waterfront view from the sandy shores at Green Zebra Restaurant & Bar, which was transformed into a luxe bridal bohemian beach wedding.

Master planner, Emma, dived into wedding-planning with vigour, and absolutely managed to pull of absolute wedding perfection. She married her one true love, Nick, in a very personal and heartfelt wedding ceremony in her parents’ beautiful garden in Mons. 

One uniquely special part of their day was when Emma’s father walked her down the aisle, only to continue on to the altar to assume celebrancy responsibility! Emma says this will go down as one of the most amazing moments of her life, getting married alongside both of the most important men in her life. Awww! 

Both Emma and Nick infused their own specific must-haves into their wedding day – for car-enthusiast, Nick, that meant fabulous vintage cars. For Emma; loads and loads of flowers. Throw in a lolly buffet, live entertainment and amazing food at reception venue, The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast and everyone’s happy.

“My mum was my 2ic and so patient given I spoke only about the wedding for 8 months and sometimes called her 3 times a day!”

“When I saw Erin Clare‘s bridesmaid range, we all fell in love with her range and were so delighted when she advised we could make all three dresses to suit each of my sisters. We went with the same colour dresses, but different styles. Erin had two in a collection that we loved and we spoke about what we would like for the third dress, which she has now included in her collect and named ‘Jesse’ after my sister.”

“My advice to brides… I am a planner, so I would say plan, plan plan, I really think this eliminates any pressure and helps you enjoy the planning as well as the day. Obviously just enjoy the day, it is over in a heartbeat!”“My father is a marriage celebrant and married us, it was wonderful on the day, but to have him involved in planning the ceremony for us was also truly special. The ceremony was filled with such love and laughter and we received so many wonderful comments on how touching the ceremony was. I think it will always be one of my most treasured memories, standing up there with my two favourite men in the world! “

“We share the same values, we love a good party with friends and, he makes me laugh. I am a planner (he is not!) but this also works! I think above all, we share a very patient and completely unconditional love.”

“We had the Offenbach String Trip perform at the ceremony, which was such a nice touch in the garden. The bridesmaids walked down the aisle to Canon in D Major (Johann Pachelbel) and I walked down to the Wagner Bridal Chorus.”

“Although I had been subtly dropping hints they appeared to go unnoticed and I just knew that when he was ready he would involve me in the ring choice. He was cleaver enough to actually propose with a single diamond as he was determined to have the engagement a surprise and we had the ring made together. He purchased the diamond on Friday and all weekend I continued to foil his plans by asking friends and family to catch up or pop around! He eventually found the right moment on the beach in Mooloolaba and I was so shocked he had managed to surprise me; he had to prompt me for an answer!”“We met online, Nick sent me his number straight away and that same day we caught up for a drink at Cracked Pepper in Mooloolaba. We were there for four hours. In the dates that closely followed it was quite obviously to us both that we had found something special. Nick was so charming and chivalrous! A couple of the many things I came to love about him .”

“My lolly buffet was such a hit at the wedding. I wanted it to be very classis and went with mainly white lollies and some pale pink. I was so grateful that the lakehouse let me set it up the day before, I don’t think I would have trusted anyone else to do it for me.”

Accessories: Tiffany and Co. pearl bracelet that my husband gave me for my birthday three months earlier (careful planning on my part! ) and pearl earrings.

In January this year, we collaborated with The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast on an event engaged couples flocked to from near and far. The lucky winners were beautiful couple, Jessica and Nic. Their wedding day turned out absolutely beautifully with a hinterland ceremony and photo shoot with Andrea Sproxton Photography and a wedding reception at The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast.

Lara and Tim say hiring Emma from Wild Heart Weddings to help plan their wedding, as well as coordinate the whole event on the day, was the best move they ever made. Knowing they were on a very tight timeframe, it really meant a lot to have cool, calm and collected Emma encouraging them every step of the way, and never once saying it’s not enough time. Instead, she always maintained her composure, giving the bride and groom the feeling of ease they so wanted with their wedding planning. They even saved money by having Emma scope out all the bargains for them. 

Not wanting a traditional wedding, but to simply have a fun and easy day full of great food and dancing, they chose waterfront restaurant, Montego’s On The Bay on Kawana Island. With its own sweet little beach on the bay, the white sandy secluded spot was perfect for an intimate ceremony, and plenty of pretty spots for photos, there was no running around to get to the reception! 

“I hired a wedding planner and coordinator, as I wanted my family and friends to be able to relax and enjoy the day as much as possible.”

“It was overcast and windy, but the rain held off till later in the night, so we couldn’t ask for more than that.”

“We wanted our son involved in the ceremony.  He carried the rings down the aisle in a little sand bucket.  It was really sweet.”
