Add some colourful blooms and a cocktail length navy bridesmaid dress works perfectly for a relaxed weddding. Photo by Emma Nayler Photographer.

There’s nothing stopping the fellas wearing navy, too. Photo by Emma Nayler Photographer.

Navy and pink is always a winner. Mismatched styles to suit each bridesmaid’s body type and personal style means everyone feels comfortable. Photo by Emma Nayler Photographer.

And you can even keep the navy theme going with your bridesmaid robes! Photo by Emma Nayler Photographer.

A navy theme can most certainly lend itself to a vintage feel. Team with an elegant chignon hair style, a baby’s breath bouquet and a hint of lace and you have some super 1950’s sweetness.
Navy looks amazing with sand! For a beach wedding, navy is beautiful. Photo by Glen and Fiona Photographers.

I love navy bridesmaid dresses so much, I even wore one myself earlier this year for my wonderful friend, Talina’s wedding to her beau, James. Talina added a pretty navy belt to her own dress with a bling brooch for an extra special touch.
It was a quick engagement for Emily and Mark, who planned their Mooloolaba wedding in only 7 months. Having known each other for 14 years since meeting at church, they simply did not see the need to muck about. The beautiful bride says they each complement one another and they are, quite simply, best friends. Aw!

Mark’s pastor dad married the pair at Penny Lane Park, and then they kicked on with a shin dig at waterfront venue, Mooloolaba Surf Club. Their strict budget of $10,000 stretched to accommodate 100 guests, who started the day with a super sweet treat of fairy floss while they anticipated the bride’s arrival.

The bride styled the wedding herself with cute little touches, such as scrabble pieces, vintage books and hessian touches for a little coastal rustic charm. The day was captured beautifully by Sunshine Coast photographer, Kristy Whittington from A Look Photography.
