Lauren and Eddie were almost high school sweethearts… except they met just after school, and were friends for four years before dating. Their relationship deepened over the next eight years before Eddie proposed. 14 months of remote planning from the UK lead to their dream wedding in Noosa. 

It was a destination wedding, not only for the happy couple, but for 38 of their 120 guests, who travelled from London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and other parts of the world to be there. 

After a beachside ceremony at Hidden Grove, the couple headed for the hills of the Noosa hinterland with their photographer and videographer in tow to capture some incredible photos. The white sands and arid scenery made for some absolutely stunning shots, as you will see in these taken by Chloe from White Images. 

 “We had a bridal party of 10. My maid of honour was my sister and Ed’s best man, his best friend. We were exceptionally lucky to have three of Ed’s groomsmen travel from Amsterdam, Los Angles and London to be there.”  “We wanted all our family members to be involved somehow, whether it was a reading or being a witness. Our brother-in-law was the MC and sang our first dance song, which was really special. He also organised a vest for Ed and scarf for me with herons birds on it for us to wear.”

“Ed and I were living in London at the time (while planning our wedding), so our priority was making it as easy as possible for ourselves, which ruled out a DIY style wedding. We also had a number of friends and family travelling from London and all over the world so ensuring our guests had a good time was front of mind. Instagram was really helpful as I followed The Bride’s Tree, Hello May Magazine and KWBridal to get ideas. I also got suppliers from The Bride’s Tree blog.”

Biggest splurge: We hired the M.V. Catalina Noosa boat for the guests between the ceremony and reception everyone loved it!

Best money-saver: A family friend of ours, Stems by di (Di Bayne), made our stunning bouquets.

Brooke and Chris’ wedding day was a long time coming. After 13 years together, and an 8-year engagement, the bride buckled down and got their perfect Noosa River wedding day planned from start to finish in just four months. 

Their day started at the picturesque Noosa River-front Resort, Culgoa Point Beach Resort, where they got ready overlooking the longest stretch of private beach in Noosa, seeing the occasional friend or relative SUPing past, Pelican perched on the bridge, or Brush Turkey coming right up to say hello on the ground floor room patio. The bride also got to take a sneaky peek as the florist and stylist set up right outside for their ceremony with a Hamptons feel.

The couple took their 85 guests on a river cruise before docking at Noosa Boathouse Restaurant for their reception, which was beautifully decked out with creative floral installations. 

Lee from Life and Love Photography was there to capture the day. 

 “I bought Chris a watch and he had a charcoal drawing commissioned by David Filer from South Africa. The drawing is something very close to my heart and was very special.”

 “We were both very relaxed and wrote our own vows. This made it very personal and light-hearted.”  “We decided to do something different and have the photographer take photos at the ceremony and then join everyone on the Catalina river cruise, which was in-between the ceremony and reception, and take photos of all our guests enjoying themselves. We have the best photos, which I was able to provide copies to the guests.”

Emily and Jordan had an amazing time the day they became husband and wife in a Noosa wedding at the gorgeous Noosa Waterfront Restaurant & Bar. 150 of their closest family and friends, including a 45-strong contingent that flew in from Melbourne for the joyous occasion enjoyed a beautifully styled ceremony. Oh, it sure was styled up good and proper, by none other than the delightful team at Lovebird Weddings.

While the happy couple and the bridal party took to Hastings street in search of trees lit up with fairy lights, and just the right spot a little ways up from Noosa Main Beach, the rest of the guests stayed on at Noosa Waterfront for a special afternoon tea. This was followed up with a festive cocktail reception, where yummy mini gourmet burgers, pork belly nibbles, noodle boxes and mini gourmet pizzas were served. Delish! 

I found my getting ready for my wedding day more relaxing than I do getting ready for work sometimes. Surround yourself with people who are good problem solvers and who will take control if something goes wrong so that you don’t have to.

I hired a back up venue; it meant we could tell everyone to stop stressing about the idea of an outdoor wedding because if it does rain we will just take the indoor option. 

My grandmother was our wedding celebrant and it was her last wedding before she retired. She knew our whole story and has been part of it since we first started dating, loved us so much. She was able to take such joy in sharing it and joining us together as husband and wife.

Grandma was the celebrant, the videographer and musicians were all good friends from Melbourne, and our parents joined us up the front to pray with us during the ceremony.

We had 180 guests for the ceremony and 150 for the reception. 45 of those guests flew up from Melbourne for the wedding.

The things that were most important to us were that people saw the love we share together, that we had enough food and drinks for everyone, and thanks to Noosa Waterfront, that was no problem at all!

Prior to our wedding day Jordan and I lived separately and had saved ourselves for each other. So the wedding day was super special and a day of many firsts. All our guests knew about it too so everyone was really excited for us and there was an amazing energy because of it it.

Best money saver: Using friends to help us out with driving/hiring the wedding car, the filming of the wedding and serving/organising an afternoon tea for the guests after the wedding before entering the reception.

It was raining in the morning so both mums were stressing but I had no doubt it would stop and clear in time for the wedding, plus my sister’s bridesmaid dress’ zip completely broke. I dropped the ring during the ceremony as I tried to put it on Jordan’s finger, so we had no REAL disasters at all. We were very blessed.

Emma and Jordan are a drop dead gorgeous couple, who live in Canada, and couldn’t dream of any place in the world they wanted to say their I Dos than Noosa here on the Sunshine Coast. It holds a very special place in the bride’s heart, having so many sweet childhood memories of their family holiday home there. So a Noosa destination wedding it was!

The happy couple were married in a meaningful ceremony at Noosa Main Beach, from there they hopped in the Noosa Dreamboats classic wooden speedboat to travel to their restaurant reception at  Noosa Boathouse.

The Perfect Location

The location was important for me, being able to be married on the beach and at the Noosaville reception as it is sentimental to me. I spent much of my childhood with my family in Noosa. We had a family holiday home there for many years.

My nephew was our ringbearer, my niece and nephew were flower kids, and my brother walked me down the aisle.

Natasha and Adam, along with their two children, Betty and Teddy, travelled a long journey to their wedding in Little Cove, Noosa. The journey started in 1997 when the UK couple met in their home town. After 15 years, two children and a very long flight, they made their vows in a very intimate ceremony, followed by a carefree reception at Bistro C, Noosa.

While they know it would have been easy to have a huge wedding with all the trappings back in the UK, a holiday to Australia and a Sunshine Coast wedding with only seven guests was exactly what they would call the perfect wedding day. Natasha says her best choice, aside from choosing to have a destination wedding on the Sunshine Coast, was to hire Kim from Weddings of Noosa to coordinate their special day.

Location was key, and the intimacy of Little Cove in Noosa was just perfect for its privacy and a simply beautiful setting. Locals made the day even more special. Well wishers on the beach included a pair of sweet little girls, who made out a heart in stones with the word ‘love’ inside just for them!

Natasha’s idea for styling for her wedding was simply to look not so styled, but to embrace the simplicity of a beach look with a touch of vintage and a splash of bohemian style. The relaxed, intimate, personal, simple and stress-free wedding Natasha and Adam dreamt of was beautifully captured by Lindy Photography. 

“I couldn’t believe how having a look around could save us so much money. I will never believe that you have to spend a fortune on a wedding for it to look great. By having a mindset of what you want your wedding to look like makes you buy the right things and not be wasteful and extravagant.”

“We had picked our own wedding playlist for the ceremony. As Adam waited for me ” The Scientist” by Coldplay played a firm favourite of his. “At Last” by Etta James was my entrance song, a very personnel and appropriate words that at last we finally did it!”

Ana didn’t have a specific theme in mind when planning her wedding, so she relied upon her stylist and florist to guide her in the right direction. The results are absolutely amazing, so it just goes to show that allowing seasoned professionals to do what they do best can really pay off! We absolutely adore the bright, happy, colourful wedding styling of the ceremony and reception with impressive baby’s breath centrepieces in tall vases. Blooms of Noosa are one of the most creative florists out there, and they really put together a breathtaking sight. 

Their reception was held at Rickys River Bar + Restaurant, a stunning, classy waterfront restaurant in Noosa, and the perfect location to celebrate through the night after a Noosa beach ceremony. The location itself is amazing, the food to-die-for, and the decor divine. 

Ana and Josh wanted to involve their beloved family and friends in their wedding ceremony as much as possible. Ana’s sister wrote a beautiful letter, their sister-in-law picked a beautiful poem to read at the ceremony and they included a Rings Warming Ceremony, whereby their rings were passed amongst the guests for good wishes.

Ana’s Advice for Future Brides

• Savour the moment; it goes so quick!!… When you are walking down the aisle take a deep breath and breath in the moment, the beauty of it, your family and friends warm faces when they see you, your husband to be… enjoy that moment, it’s a treasurable memory!
• People love having opinions and mostly they are doing it out of love but remember is your day, have it as you have always imagined it… people don’t have to love what you love.
• Your wedding is also important for your family; it’s worth it to accommodate some things for them, like a couple of extra invitations for example or seating plans.
• Make a list of shots that you would like to have, look at bridal blogs, magazines… any source of inspiration and have a list that you can give to your photographer.
• Be happy and grateful for the people that want to be part of your day; attending and even more being part of wedding party takes people’s time and it costs, people that accept your invitation really want to be there for you!
• Include make up to touch-up yours after the ceremony, it can get really emotional [I cried pretty much the 30mins that it lasted!] and you want to be photo ready right after it!

For transportation, the couple hooned around town in awesome hired red and yellow Mustangs, first to their ceremony at Ravenwood Park, Noosa Sound, and then on to their reception at Trio’s On The River at Noosa Marina.

When planning their wedding, Larissa and Lewis placed their highest level of importance on finding the right photographer. They wanted to be able to look back and relive their magical day for years to come with beautiful images that told their story. When planning their wedding, Sam and Rick thought back to the night they met at the Ivy Bar in Sydney. This chance meeting resulting in their union as husband and wife deserved to be paid homage, plus it was just a really cool theme idea, so the pair recreated their own Ivy Bar right here on the Sunshine Coast! Their 100 guests gathered at Noosa hinterland bed and breakfast, Alaya Verde, for a gorgeous blue and green-themed wedding. Talk about an incredible wedding venue!

The meaningful wedding included plenty of DIY, and a beautiful ceremony of passing the rings between the guests to bless them as a collective prior to the exchange between the couple.  We’re really excited to be sharing with you the following stunning images by Katja Anton Photography. Enjoy!

This gorgeous young couple were engaged for six months after having been together for almost three years following an introduction by a mutual friend at a coffee shop, and then Bronwyn started attending Sam’s church. I genuinely have not seen a more sweet couple in all my time, and when you see their wedding photos below, I’m sure you will agree wholeheartedly.

Bronnie & Sam had always wanted to be married in Noosa, and chose a perfect location for their wedding ceremony – Maison La Plage Grove, Noosa Main Beach, then kicked on with their guests for a lovely celebration at Australis Noosa Lakes Resort. It was everything they ever dreamed of, a fun and vibrant Noosa Beach wedding with happy pink, orange and yellow flowers and plenty of big smiles.

Their super fun wedding included a rehearsed dance by the entire bridal party, as well as a surprise boogie down the aisle at the end of the ceremony to We Go Together from the movie, Grease! We just adore Bronnie and Sam with their infectious smiles and enthusiasm for life and love.
