Rugged Mountaintop Bridal Photo Shoot Location

The Sunshine Coast is nothing if not versatile when it comes to our stunning settings in nature. From crisp white sands on foamy shores to rolling green hills to the rugged mountaintops, like that of Emu Mountain (aka Mt. Peregian.) Photographer, Terri Hanlon, today presents us with said mountaintop as a place that may not naturally be considered for an elopement or bridal party shoot.

Let’s see what Terri has to say about her team’s vision and shooting on the mountain…

Our shoot was an opportunity to explore the backside of Mt Peregian to showcase how incredible this Sunshine Coast backdrop is and get together with fellow creatives in the Wedding Industry who are inspired to create beautiful bridal looks.

Lauren from Suncoast Flowers chose tones and textures that emulate the mood of the current season, Autumn. And Valentina from Sunshine Brides always creates the perfect style to compliment any bridal look! With the gown from AW Bridal, our bridal look was complete.

The highlight of this shoot would have to be how well it all came together and the beautiful backdrop of Mount Peregian to photograph Allira. It was just so stunning to photograph at this location. Shoots like this give wedding vendors a chance to work on their craft and provide an opportunity to find areas that would be perfect for weddings, but it also offers the chance to see how suitable locations can be for couples.

An Open Letter to Bridesmaids

As adults, we often fail to remind our friends how much we love them. That is aside from the obligatory Instagram collage on their birthday of course. So, asking your friend to be your bridesmaid is an incredibly clear message of love and commitment.

A marriage proposal is a romantic gesture where you ask the love of your life to spend forever with you, and equally so, asking your best gal pal to be your maid of honour or bridesmaid is in many ways a declaration of friendship.

Not only are the girls standing by your side going to be her strength and sanity on the special day, to many brides they are also the backbone and support whilst planning and preparing.

Quite frankly, bridesmaids dedicate their lives over the last few weeks leading up to the wedding listening to all of the last-minute stress. You’ll bear witness to breakdowns over the small details, hold the bride’s hand through the stress of planning and booking vendors, and inevitably cry when she finally says ‘Yes!’ to the dress.

Remind her it’s easy and quite natural to get caught up in the scheduling, timing and stress that planning such a big and memorable day holds.

Remind her at the end of the day it is all about her and her partner.

Remind her everyone they love is celebrating alongside them as they embark on one of their greatest adventures yet.

Above all, remember how much fun this day is going to be for all of you. As her bridesmaids, you can let your heart be full in the knowledge that you are one of her treasured few. The bride may have her rock, but more importantly, she’ll always need her flock.
