There are only a few teeny tiny weeks to go till one of our fave events of the year. A Darling Affair is once again set to wow the crowds, who gather at The Chapel Woombye on July 19 for a Sunshine Coast wedding collective like no other.

We can hand-to-heart guarantee you divine bridal and special event inspiration galore in the form of South-East Queensland’s most creative wedding vendors, fashion parades, funky live music, and giveaways. 

The Bride’s Tree team will be there, as we are once again proudly sponsoring this event. This will be our third year as online magazine sponsors, having been involved since this little baby was in its conception. It has gone from a sweet wee thing to event of the year, and we are just gushing with pride at seeing it blossom!

Many thanks to the lovely Deb from Boots Photography, who took these beautiful photos for us at the fair to share with you all a little bit of loveliness from the day. 

Willow Bud created a super dooper beautiful stand! It was a true pleasure being opposite all this pretty!

The Boots Photography stand was my fave place to hang out during the fair. And it was made all the more pleasant with my floral hair garland, which was gifted to me from Ginger Lily & Rose Floral Studio. I could live in this garland, I really could. It makes me feel amazing, and ups the enjoyment factor by at least 200%.

I must have watched the Jasper & Ruby Visions films a hundred times throughout the day, but let me tell you something – I went home from the fair, and I got on their website and watched them all again! True story.

How pretty! The natural light streaming through the chapel windows made Simply Style Co’s stand so inviting, along with their amazing styling efforts of course.

I did not get to participate in the Pinata Bash (nor The Kissing Booth, just quietly…), but I had a ball nonetheless! Can’t wait till the next Darling Affair!

Flowers are one of our all time favourite things to do with getting married here at A Darling Affair.

I was able to have a real sentimental attachment to my own bouquet as I made it myself and had foliage from my Grandmother’s garden in it. I used to dream about the day I would get married as a little girl and make little bouquets. That dream came true for me.

I also had the opportunity to make a few friends bouquets and I will never forget their priceless expressions of amazement when they received their bouquet.

FUN FACT: Do we really think about why we carried bouquets to begin with?

During the 15th century, people took their yearly baths in May and would generally get married in June. Just to be safe, brides carried bouquets to mask the smell of their body.

Obviously we have progressed since then and know how to have a bath/shower so the tradition has continued and now the giving of flowers is more of a kind gesture or an expression of love to those close to us who are in our bridal party and the fond members of our families.

The best thing is that they get to keep their flowers after the big day is over!
