Amanda and Trev were highschool sweethearts, who fell truly, madly, deeply and hopelessly in love over exchange of sweet childish love letters. Those same love letters are the ones Trev bundled together in a vintage jewellery box for Amanda to open on her wedding day morning. How she turned up to her wedding ceremony without puffy eyes, we will never know!

This beautiful couple had a long engagement of four years before they finally tied the knot at gorgeous Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding venue, Flaxton Gardens. It was a perfect day, with their ceremony overlooking the gorgeous hinterland, which they say was their favourite part of the day. Kristy Ellis of Weddings with Kristy was their wedding celebrant, who engaged their guests and helped them to have the emotional, yet fun ceremony they had always wanted. 

We absolutely adore the colour scheme Amanda chose – the fresh white with hints of blue and coral are simply stunning and perfect for a Sunshine Coast wedding. We particularly love the florals by Ginger Lily & Rose Floral Studio with its nod to the colour theme in such a creative and intricate fashion. Love, love, love!

DIY: We made a chalkboard sign the day before our wedding of our love story and our children illustrated it  with pictures of themselves playing guitars and love hearts. We also had homemade cookies as bonboniere and a cool drink coaster that had “Eat, Drink, Dance – To you and to yours“,  and our names and our wedding date written on it.

“My husband surprised me with a beautiful pearl bracelet and had a vintage jewellery box filled with love letters we had written each other over the last nine years. As I was in school when I met Trev some of them were so funny and childish. I really appreciated this as Trev isn’t the most emotional person I know.”

The very shoes that will be wrapped around your cute little tootsies when you have your very first kiss as man and wife. The only shoes you will ever say you took off and left in the sand while you had your bridal party photo shoot on the beach. So of course, it’s important to document these fabulous, oh so perfect (yes, you will find the perfect pair!), bridal shoes for prosterity. 

A while ago, we showed you some creative ways to have your photo of your wedding and engagement rings taken for your Sunshine Coast wedding. Now today we are sharing with you some of the clever ways some of our favourite Sunshine Coast wedding photographers have taken photos of bridal shoes.

Now, it’s not imperative that you have a still life shot of your shoes. You might prefer to get one where you are putting your shoes on, or even hitching up your dress for a quick trot across the lawn, like one bride below. Rules do not apply, so have some fun with it! Get creative and find a way to show off those ahmayzing heels you plan to marry your man in. Not to mention dance the night away in!

Being that your wedding cake is the centrepiece to your wedding, the culmination of the celebration that is your joining in marriage with the love of your life, you want to get it right and make an impact. This cake is fun and classy at the same time, and just look at the perfection that is the yellow rose made from icing! It takes talent, patience, and a whole lot of practice to be able to master such perfection.

There were 70 guests at the Flaxton wedding, who were conveniently able to enjoy walking from the ceremony directly to the reception, as Flaxton Gardens have both a stunningly gorgeous spot to say your vows with the most incredible view, as well as a choice of reception locations. Delicious food is an absolute certainty in this place, we can tell you that from experience! 

Being married in the Sunshine Coast hinterland is not only a great choice for the romantic locations and prettiness galore for the day itself, but it also offers more charm, interesting and beautiful sights, and relaxing times than should really be allowed in one place. Guests absolutely adore a getaway to such a wonderful place on this earth.
