Sophia wears a flowy angel-wing gown by L’ETO Bridal as she explores the estate’s gardens of the1900s heritage-listed Rippon Lea Estate. The groom, Jake, matches the mood with a rich green tartan bow tie and blazer with classic beige.

Claiming a new hair style for the lakeside picnic, this time Sophia sports a graceful fishtail updo, with baby breath weaved in.

Jake mixes it up with a preppy maroon vest and custom pinstriped jacket for the picnic by Half Past 8.

This nautical wedding shoot was created with the venue itself as the inspiration. Pier 33 in Mooloolaba has crisp white and blue decor styling with lush greenery to add to the overall fresh look. Its Mooloolaba marina location is no doubt the chief inspiration for the styling. 

Appearing in our Summer edition of The Bride’s Tree free online magazine, the Hamptons-esque feel is a summer wedding’s delight. Navy + white on white dominate the styling, supported by softer hues of blue, light natural wood and textiles, and touches of green. Model Ivy’s shocking red locks add an exciting element to the clean cut theme.

Rustic tones with pops of blue and teal and soft green foliage makes for a unique Autumn wedding colour palette. Against the fresh white and cream interiors of Maleny wedding venue, Weddings at Tiffany’s.

Weddings at Tiffany’s  Wedding Coordinator, Lara, says this was a colour palette never before seen at the venue, “We are always trying to create something to inspire our brides and showcase our venue in a new light. This is how we created this Autumn inspired art piece.” 

It’s a modern wedding theme where classic meets boho style. The crew utilised the outdoor garden space by erecting a yurt to create a comfy space with both classic cream furniture and rustic elements, such as old wine barrels, which tied in with the deep stained wood used throughout the venue in both the chapel and dining room. As a centrepiece, the yurt was dressed with a floral installation acting as a chandelier-like structure and carrying the floral styling throughout. 

Tiffany’s Flowers designed eye-catching arrangements of magnolia leaf, orange roses, stephanotis and throwing in a splash of colour with thistle and blue delphinium.

Thoughtful touches of blue were carried throughout the styling by  Simply Style Co. and into the reception tablescape with rich blue napkins laid under warm copper calligraphy stationery.

When it comes to planning your wedding there are a million and one things to consider, one of which is whether your wedding should have a theme.

If you think of your wedding like any other event you might have been to, whether it’s a big beach party or an evening ball, most will have some sort of theme. It doesn’t have to be anything too garish or obvious, but a subtle theme will help to give your wedding consistency and unity throughout. So let’s take a look at whether or not to consider a wedding theme. 

Subtle themes

A theme for your wedding day can be as simple and subtle as a colour scheme throughout the room, table centrepieces and your bouquet or it can be more definitive such as a vintage tea party vibe, with plenty of vintage decorations and touches throughout the venue and even your attire.

Having a theme for your wedding day will not only help you marry all of the other elements of the day together, from the type of venue and ceremony you want to the colour of your bridesmaids dresses, but it will give you a good basis to work from with all your planning. There’s so much choice for weddings these days it can feel overwhelming, so having your theme clear in your mind should help you make more definitive decisions for the planning.

Choose your theme together

When choosing your theme, take the time to talk with your partner and figure out the type of ceremony and reception you want and where, as well as considering your own personal styles and personalities. This will make it look and feel even more special as a wedding is an incredibly personal experience and should therefore be a true reflection of the couple and their individual styles.

This should give you a good idea of how you envisage your day, the venue and everything else running and make it easier to decide on your theme. It’s also worth talking your ideas through with your wedding celebrant as they can help with ideas and discuss how it will work in relation to the logistics of the ceremony and reception.

Having a theme for your wedding is important, it makes planning easier and creates a wonderful and memorable day for you and your guests, as well as a true and personal reflection of the happy couple.

We have been experiencing a bit of dreariness across the Sunshine Coast lately. Certainly not living up to our name weather-wise! So The Bride's Tree team decided to bring a bit of sunny your way in the form of this gorgeous yellow inspiration board for your Sunshine Coast wedding.

Varying shades in one colour scheme work brilliantlly with yellow, in fact it actually works a lot better than a perfectly matching pallette.

Complimentary colours are bold or deep purples with cream to fold in a vintage feel, or bright yellow with a pretty sky blue and bright white (as seen below on the personalised napkins), for a happy, sunny look, and with this particular font choice, you have a very contemporary-retro vibe.

I think the best news to be discovered with this inspiration board is that a sweets table doesn't have to be dominated by pink! A yellow sweets table, who'd have thunk it?
