Bridal fashion and beauty for brides of the Sunshine Coast so often sees natural and unassuming meet the height of glamour and style. Much like the bridal looks designed for this photo shoot alongside the river at peaceful Mudjimba.

Perfectly relaxed waves and loosely styled pony tails and upstyles were teamed with natural bronzed makeup for coastal bridal vibes.

Model Tahlia sparkled in Chosen by Kyha, while Caitlin flounced in a full-skirted half bodice gown by local dressmaker, Marilyn Crystelle Bridal.

Sunshine Coast hair and makeup artist, Valentina Pintus of Sunshine Brides, has mastered techniques throughout her career in the beauty industry, which give her an expert edge in any situation. Today she shares all her secrets for creating Marisa’s stunning wedding day hair and makeup look for the day she married her love, Michael.

Let’s hear from Valentina herself…

“When I met Marisa on trial day her desire was an elegant and effortless look to complement her beautiful dress and the style of her wedding.

“She wanted full coverage, but that still would look natural and not cakey. I used my favourite “double foundation” technique; I applied Makeup Atelier Paris for full coverage with a synthetic brush, and then sprayed over the top with a light layer of Elementwo airbrush. This makes the foundation sweat-proof, long-lasting and absolutely radiant.

“I choose warm tones for the eyes to complement Marisa’s beautiful complexion, and used a few Asian makeup application techniques to enhance Marisa’s features.

“As for hair we opted for a soft textured low bun.. that is modern and absolutely elegant , decorated with a sparkling hairpiece!”

Marisa and Michael were married at Maleny Manor , and their perfect day was captured by Luke Middlemiss Photography and Creative Flows Studios.

The Gowns

In this shoot, model Chantal wears ‘Enchanted’ and ‘Gabrielle’ from Euphorie exclusive to WHITE by Gossip Gowns. Each of the dresses is giving off some seriously romantic vibes with so many gorgeous details. Figure flattering and full with fluffy, soft tulle and backless detail – these are some jaw-dropping designs.

The Flowers

Two distinctly different bouquets, both featuring some of this season’s hottest floral trends – orchids and gold-sprayed leaves. The first colour palette embraces soft, muted warm tones of peach, blush pink and latte, with hints of white, mauve and yellow. The second is a cool-toned surprise with pastel blue orchids and whimsical trailing foliage and silk ribbons. The bouquet itself is abundantly constructed with white roses and a touch of Blue Thistle and Dusty Miller.

The Hair and Makeup

Chantal’s hair was curled in an effortless style – equal parts undone and perfect. Her makeup was kept soft and pretty in nude tones for a naturally beautiful bridal style.

It all started with a simple idea by one creative wedding talent, Kendra Groves of Wild Child Cakes & Catering. 

“Modern Harvest was inspired by my favourite time of the year, Autumn.. Here in Australia the leaves aren’t as golden and the nights not as cool, but we find the beauty in what we are given and that’s what inspired me.” Kendra said. 

Kendra chose one of our favourite places to shoot this Modern Harvest wedding inspiration, the very beautiful untouched Emu Mountain in Perigean. “Long grass caught in the golden hour and dirt tracks leading to nowhere, to me this place encompasses the perfect elopement. A place to get lost and fall in love.” She said.

Autumn Flowers

Flowers by the ever incredible Bloodwood Botanica, somehow managing to encompass quintessential Autumnal beauty in a muted blush pallete.

Stationery + Cake 

Kendra explained her creative process involved taking inspiration from Studio B Couture’s stationery that ultimately spoke to the Autumnal deep toned theme, “When I saw the stationery with its beautiful texture, which played a subtle balance between light and dark, I wanted to encompass this within my cake. Where the cake showed all that was beautiful in a Winters night sky, the florals surrounding showed that Autumn is all about balance, about life and death, night and day, and about the beauty of light and the dark within the season.”

Photography

Incandescent photography was captured by Mallory Sparkles, whose approach to photography involves such care and attention to detail with light analysis above and beyond. 

Beauty + Fashion

Sunshine Brides – Valentina Pintus brought in the modern edge with a striking blood red lip, and smokey eye with some serious lashes. Fox and the Dandelion designed an intricately braided style that would highlight the stunning crown from Crowns + Wreaths with variations with loose curls cascading down the low back dress design.

Amidst all the fun of wedding planning, let’s face it, there is a decent level of stress. In some people this rears its ugly head in the form of snappy tones and emotional break downs. In others it’s plain as the nose on their face – and actually right there on their face – taking shape as an angry blemish or blotchy skin tone. Ugh! Definitely NOT what you need right now!

When your skin is acting up, your stress levels intensify. It’s a viscious cycle! Taking some time to give your naughty skin some attention will not only soothe the visual effects, but help you to calm from within. Especially when you use some delicious organic products like the ones I’m about to share with you.

Test driving gorgeous products happens to be a thing we LOVE to do at The Bride’s Tree HQ, so when Australian certified organic skincare label, Saya, sent us some face and body care products to try. The didn’t have to ask us twice!

The 5 Steps to a Relaxed You and Rejuvenated Skin

The key to making this a de-stressing exercise and not one that adds to your stress is to make it super simple and fun. These five steps could be successfully achieved by a 5-year-old, and the organic products filled with amazing Australian botanicals make for such a calming experience you will be walking on a cloud by the time you’re done.

So let’s get into these five simple steps to self-pampering goodness.

Step One

After cleansing, remove dead skin cells and restore radiance to the skin with Saya‘s AHA Face Exfoliant, $31.95. This is the perfect preparation to clear your skin and create a smooth canvas for the steps to follow.

Step Two

While you’re in the shower, scrub down with Saya‘s Coffee Body Scrub, $29.95. I am so on board with coffee scrubs, they are full of anti-oxidants and I swear, much like a cup of coffee, you feel more awake and refreshed than ever after showering with this baby. Just make sure you wash all the coffee away, as you don’t want to be scrubbing bits off later on – it’s such a pain!

Step Three

It’s time to have a little lay down with your French Pink Clay Mask, $19.95. Now this one is my favourite, because it does exactly what it says it will do. It helps to clear congestion and improve the texture of your skin – seriously I’ve never had such smooth gorgeous skin in my life as I do after using this.

Terri Hanlon took some pics for us as we showed you how to mix up your clay mask with just a spoonful of the powder form and a few drops of water…

  You’re in control of the consistency, so you can go as thick or runny as you like.  Here I am playing beauty therapist for the day, loading Jenny up with some French Pink Clay Mask goodness, drawing out impurities like nobody’s business.

Once your mask is completely dry (you will know, because it will change colour completely after about 15 minutes of looking like a hypercolour tshirt -remember those?! Height of on-trend early-90’s fashion…) and feel quite tight on the skin as it sets. Wash it off with warm water and a soft muslin cloth or flannel.

Step Four

Allow your skin to drink in the goodness of the Argan Oil, $29.95, with Kakadu Plum and Vitamin E, which will hydrate the skin leaving it silky smooth, hydrated and balanced with a noticeable luminosity.

Step Five

Don’t forget to hydrate the body with Saya‘s Rich Body Cre`me with Shea Butter and Coconut, $39.95. This stuff smells ahmayzing. I happened to have some sunburn when we were test driving these products, so my skin was absolutely drinking it up and enjoying all the hydrating benefits.

Two models, two dreamy bridal makeup and hair styles accented with floral hair pieces. I just don’t know if you’ll find a more romantic bridal beauty look than this right here. Sunshine Coast makeup artist, Jenna Turner Makeup Artistry got together with some fellow talented wedding vendors to bring you this super pretty shoot on a rose farm. 

Makeup artist, Jenna, says about Gabrielle’s bridal makeup design…  “Gabrielle was wearing a blush pink dress that complimented her fair skin so beautifully and I wanted the makeup to be barely there to keep the focus on her piercing blue eyes. I went for a wash of tan over her eyelid with lots of mascara and paired this with a soft pink lip to tie into the colour of her dress.”  

    Jenna, with makeup artistry talent up the wahzoo, says of Julia’s bridal makeup design… “Julia has more prominent features so I went with a soft smokey eye but still stuck to a feminine day time makeup in peach, coral and warm brown tones. Julia’s brows are sent straight from heaven, any makeup artists dream! Being that she had a slightly bolder eye I went for a soft peach toned lip.
