It is time for us to sign off for another year. Wow, hasn't it been a simply wonderful year of glorious Sunshine Coast wedding inspiration! We have adored every minute, bringing you the very best this region has to offer.

If you weren't already aware, let me just let you in on a little secret: the Sunshine Coast is a hub for weddings. It is not only a popular South-East Queensland wedding destination, it's one of the highest grossing region for weddings anywhere in Australia. It is up in the top wedding destinations in Australia, and people from all over the world want to get married here. 

Of course it goes without saying that brides and grooms are attracted to our absolutely amazing natural attractions. Our beaches are among the most beautiful and pristine in the world, our hinterland is nothing short of magical. The local people are friendly, we have some of the most delicious fresh food on the planet and we have unique wildlife, endemic to Australia. 

However, it's not only the beauty of the region that attracts drones of couples and their guests to the Sunshine Coast for weddings, but the fact that when you get married in our neck of the woods, you can bet your bottom dollar you will have an amazing day. Thanks to the hard-working, innovative wedding professionals and the wedding venues that run their weddings and events seamlessly. 

To support and work alongside the people in this industry is a true privilege. The Bride's Tree thanks each and every one of our A-list Vendors, and you dear readers, for joining us on this journey each day, and each year. As we enter our fourth year bringing you daily inspiration, we thank you for your ongoing support and look forward to a 2015 full of weddingy goodness.

Today, the final instalment of our very special Christmas wedding styled shoot. Shot locally at The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast, this gathering of tremendous talent in the wedding industry resulted in something truly special.

Our beautiful bridal model wore a sensational dress from local couture designer, Erin Clare. Veil and jewellery also by Erin Clare Couture. 

The Lakehouse entry way is warm and welcoming with comfy chairs, cowhide rug, fireplace and lots of interesting nautical bits and pieces. I love this part of The Lakehouse, being a person who loves a little secret spot to get away from the crowd, this room calls to me. It beckons to me with the promise of pretty things tucked into corners of shelves, and vintage books to transport me to another time. 

The colouring in the makeup design perfectly complements the floral hair piece. Makeup by The Beauty Case, flowers by Ginger Lily & Rose Floral Studio.

Our little flowergirl, Lily, was given a spectacular fishtail braid to match in with the bride's braided style, while Alexandra's tresses are all trussed up by Hair By Nicola in a gorgeous high bun. The girls wear adorable skirts from Little Chiyo.

A very Bride's Tree Christmas continues today, as we share the most delicious Christmas-themed dessert table you have every clapped eyes on from our Christmas at The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast.

So what naughty but nice treats can have a cheeky nibble of? Toffee apples, raspberry macarons, snowy-coloured cake pops with edible silver bells, jars of delectable pannacotta, coconut cupcakes and a whole tower of bites of meringues. All of these marvelous little morsels were lovingly prepared by Chocolate 2 Chilli.

Fresh Christmas Food

After our shoot, we held The Bride's Tree Christmas Party with all of our wonderful wedding vendors. The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast put on some absolutely delicious fresh food for all of our guests. Much of it was gorgeous fresh seafood – perfect for an Australian Christmas.

Did you know The Bride's Tree was named after a beautiful Christmas tradition? It's no secret, we feel an affinity with the season of joy. We love everything about this time of year – the spirit of giving, the coming together of loved ones, the festivities and food, and in our part of the world – the heat. 

The Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia, is an interesting place to be at Christmas time. While we spend our days in the summer sun finding any opportunity to dive into all and any body of water, we also completely subscribe to the concept of a winter Christmas when it comes to decorating. What can I say, we are complex people. 

If you're going to have a Christmas-themed wedding on the Sunshine Coast, The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast is the wedding venue to set the perfect scene with its rich elegant decor and waterfront positon. We convened a gifted group of local wedding industry vendors to spawn a wedding styled shoot with an elegant loved-up Christmas in mind.

The result is beyond beautiful, just take a look at these images by Lindy Photography. However bear in mind, lovely brides, this is only the first instalment of our Christmas gift to you. This shoot had so much exquisiteness, we will be bringing you more in the weeks to come. Happy first day of Christmas! 

Oh, Christmas Tree, how we adore thee with your fresh flower garland of roses and peonies of white and red, laced with greenery of rich hunter green. 

Chrome vases and candesticks shine in contrast with the natural pine cones and raised wooden table runner. 

Natural and gold pine cones say season's greetings in any language, however housing a name card they also politely say, "Sit here, my guest. Enjoy the festivities." 

The centrepiece to end all centrepieces: a Christmas tree! And surrounding the piece de resistance, many varying textures – crystal glass, chrome, gold, and linen, all beautifully styled by Styling Hue. 

Liane's double braided and loosely curled locks were expertly styled by Hair By Nicola. 

Tristan looks dashing in his black tuxedo from Suits Direct. 

The warmth in the room at The Lakehouse Sunshine Coast is palpable with antler chandeliers casting golden light all around. 

Ginger Lily & Rose Floral Studio put together the most exquisite red, white and green bouquet with just a touch of dusty rose, secured with red ribbon and white lace. 

Delicate and robust blooms of deep red, white and green meet to make magic in the form of a seriously stunning floral headpiece by Ginger Lily & Rose Floral Studio. The colouring perfectly offsets the bride's green eyes, enhanced by makeup design of a smokey emerald green by The Beauty Case. 

Liane wears a couture gown in ivory and silver lace with a full soft tulle skirt by Erin Clare Couture. 

What is Christmas without tinsel? 

Pretty little flowergirls with braided locks and lots of silver tulle, like two Christmas fairies!

To me the best part about Christmas is the decorative factor – everything just looks so pretty! Sometimes tacky… but mostly pretty! And no Christmas decoration I have seen is more super pretty than the one we are sharing with you today.
