After 12 months and 20 days of careful planning (but who’s counting?), Natalie and Josh tied the knot overlooking the Noosa River. They were married in the park beside the restaurant venue as 100 guests celebrated their love and union. Noosa Waterfront Restaurant & Bar is renowned for its delicious Italian cuisine and serene Noosa River setting. 

Natalie has shared her memories of her big day with us…

“I wore a brooch of my Grandma’s on the front of my bouquet. This meant so much to me after losing her only months before our wedding. I knew that she was with me all day!

“I bought Josh a watch which he wore on the day, and Josh bought me a toiletries bag from The Daily Edited with my new initials!

“Our family and friends were integral on our wedding day, as they made our dreams become a reality by decorating our venue just as we had imagined.”

“Our main priority was to find a venue that was convenient for our guests, with a vibrant atmosphere, and amazing food and drinks – I think we achieved just that.

Noosa Waterfront Restaurant are the masters of incredible Italian food. We opted for share plates for entrée and main, with cheese and macaron towers for dessert.”

Lauren and Eddie were almost high school sweethearts… except they met just after school, and were friends for four years before dating. Their relationship deepened over the next eight years before Eddie proposed. 14 months of remote planning from the UK lead to their dream wedding in Noosa. 

It was a destination wedding, not only for the happy couple, but for 38 of their 120 guests, who travelled from London, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and other parts of the world to be there. 

After a beachside ceremony at Hidden Grove, the couple headed for the hills of the Noosa hinterland with their photographer and videographer in tow to capture some incredible photos. The white sands and arid scenery made for some absolutely stunning shots, as you will see in these taken by Chloe from White Images. 

 “We had a bridal party of 10. My maid of honour was my sister and Ed’s best man, his best friend. We were exceptionally lucky to have three of Ed’s groomsmen travel from Amsterdam, Los Angles and London to be there.”  “We wanted all our family members to be involved somehow, whether it was a reading or being a witness. Our brother-in-law was the MC and sang our first dance song, which was really special. He also organised a vest for Ed and scarf for me with herons birds on it for us to wear.”

“Ed and I were living in London at the time (while planning our wedding), so our priority was making it as easy as possible for ourselves, which ruled out a DIY style wedding. We also had a number of friends and family travelling from London and all over the world so ensuring our guests had a good time was front of mind. Instagram was really helpful as I followed The Bride’s Tree, Hello May Magazine and KWBridal to get ideas. I also got suppliers from The Bride’s Tree blog.”

Biggest splurge: We hired the M.V. Catalina Noosa boat for the guests between the ceremony and reception everyone loved it!

Best money-saver: A family friend of ours, Stems by di (Di Bayne), made our stunning bouquets.

Accessories: My gorgeous work colleague made me rose gold, pearl, clip on earringsas I couldn’t find any that looked formal enough.

  “My sister’s dress broke and my bridesmaid had to call her grandma to the photo location to sew it up – my advice, bring a sewing kit!”

 “We had a BBQ the next day for everyone to pop in and say goodbye before leaving Noosa, and it was so much fun to recap the day with everyone and have a proper catch up.”

Ah, this wedding is like a breath of fresh air. It’s swimming with sweetness, especially lots of involvement from family and friends. Kylie and Ryan’s wedding ceremony was held at Ryan’s grandparents’ Sunshine Coast range property. Their 70 guests then joined them for a fine dining experience at Noosa Waterfront Restaurant & Bar.

We Are Twine captured the beauty and effortless elegance of this Noosa wedding day. 

“I didn’t really have a theme in mind straight away. After doing some research (mostly with The Bride’s Tree), and working with what I had at Ryan’s grandmother’s, the theme just developed from them. I think we ended up with Modern Vintage Country (if there is such a thing).”

“One of my favourite things was that I arrived in my mums old Datsun 260z. My dad and brother had restored the car for the day, and then driven it up and back from Victoria, it was perfect arriving in mum’s first car and Ryan and I loved driving up the highway in it after the ceremony!”

“As most of the guests had travelled from Melbourne, Sydney, Europe and the US, we wanted them to be able to stay somewhere lovely and enjoy their time away from home.”

“We wanted to get married somewhere that was special to us, the whole family enjoys gathering at Ryan’s grandparents house, and it is a place with fond memories for Ryan growing up, especially with his grandfather who has passed and was greatly missed on the day.”

“I was a very relaxed bride, which was great, but I was maybe too relaxed. I left a little too much for the family to do without much instruction, to the point where, Ryan thought I wanted the signing table under the deck at the end of the isle because I had asked him to put it there when we were setting up, but I only told him to put it there because it was raining, and I just assumed everyone would know to put it beside the wedding arbour! So I think giving family some drawings of where I wanted everything would have helped a lot.”

“We keep each other grounded and in line. We both can have big ideas and strong personalities, so we are there to keep the other level headed. We also both want the same things out of life, we’re driven and want to make to most of what we can achieve together.”

“I had my best friend Rebecca as my bridesmaid. Her and her partner travelled from San Diego for the wedding, which was really special for us. Ryan’s best man was his cousin Brendan. Family is really important to Ryan and Brendan was his first ‘partner in crime’.”

“Being from Melbourne it was important for me to have excellent food at my wedding, and we definitely had that!”

Holy guacamole! The most incredible wedding styling was achieved by the incredible Splash Events for our styled shoot in the latest issue of The Bride's Tree free online bridal magazine. On Monday we shared all the beautiful pics we couldn't fit in the pages of the mag, that show off all the details from our Mexican wedding styled shoot.

Tuesday was all about the look – the Mexican wedding look, that is! We shared with you all the secrets – including where that amazing dress came from!

Lauren and Don were married in a Lake Weyba ceremony, and followed it up with a cocktail-style catered reception at Eumarella Shores. The Australian bush setting on the Noosa waterfront of Lake Weyba really needed no jazzing up, so the couple decided to keep things simple and let the location speak for itself. Lauren simply wanted to enhance what was already so beautifully there. The bridal bouquet was one way Lauren gave a nod to the natural Australian bush wedding theme, choosing mostly native flowers with splashes of pink, mauve and olive. They even had some kangaroos turn up for a sneaky peek at the bride and groom! 

Canapes, cheese platters and hot boxes of delicious beef stroganoff or pesto chicken pasta with fresh parmesan were offered to guests cocktail-style, while 4-piece live band DisKord rocked the house with all their fave tunes. Sounds like a pretty darn fun Sunshine Coast bush wedding to us!
