Photo of the Week

The instant I saw this image by Chesterton Smith Photography, I knew I wanted to share it with you all. I absolutely love this moment! The beautiful bride is just so happy, and you can tell at a glimpse something is going on here.

Upon further investigation, I uncovered the story behind this photo. (Well… okay, I sent photographer Tanya Chesterton a Facebook message and she told me…) See, the bride, Chrystal, desperately wanted to hold her wedding ceremony overlooking her parents' Flaxton property in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. It wasn't looking good with rain all morning. However, right before the ceremony it eased off. Hurrah!

The outdoor ceremony was back on, and following a quick set up, they managed to say their vows in the sunshine. Bill Scurry, Marriage Celebrant managed to time it to a tea, and just a few seconds before their first kiss as husband and wife, light rain started again, hence the reaction in this shot!

I adore stories like this, and I hear them so often – rain will just ease off for those 20 minutes or so that are needed to allow for the outdoor ceremony. It's quite magical!
