Photo of the Week

15th March 2013

Whenever we have worked with Matt Rowe Photography, we have been struck by the care he takes in ensuring he gets just the right shot. He’s looking for perfection, and he does not stop until he gets it. This is evident in today’s Photo of the Week, which is from an engagement shoot in Bli Bli.  It’s an outrageously gorgeous sunset love story for Djanisa and Rana, and we are hopelessly in love with it! Matt Rowe is one Sunshine Coast wedding photographer to watch – you mark our words. Have a beautiful weekend, lovelies!

Spotlight on a Supplier: Fiona Duce

13th March 2013

The lovely Fiona Duce of Coastal Weddings is a fun, young, but highly professional Sunshine Coast wedding celebrant. We always have a good time and a laugh when Fiona is about the joint, because she is a naturally personable lass, and just always so very happy! We think her unbridled happiness must be because this very happily married woman sincerely enjoys being part of other couples’ journey into married life. But hey, enough speculating, because there’s simply no need – Fiona has answered all of our probing questions. So let’s train our spotlight on this star of the Sunshine Coast…

Nautical Wedding Stationery

12th March 2013

For their upcoming wedding, Chloe and Joel commissioned Kerrie-anne Designs to custom design an invitation set that would lend itself to their dual theme. Rustic and nautical was the order of the day, so super clever and creative Kerrie-Anne set about creating this unique set, which includes the invitation itself, personalised name tags, map to the ceremony, and RSVP postcard. With her design, Kerrie-anne had a stamp made, which she applied to transparent paper and fixed it to balsa wood. We absolutely adore the attention to detail and care put into every one of Kerrie-anne’s designs.  Kerrie-anne Designs has both custom…

Intimate Wedding at Exclusive Hinterland Estate

10th March 2013

Justine and Simon enjoyed their special day exactly the way they wanted to. All of their guests enjoyed a breakfast together, after spending the night at the luxurious private estate of Spicers Clovelly. With complete privacy for their intimate wedding of just 10 guests, the bridal couple were free to enjoy a walk together after breakfast, which calmed them for the day they faced ahead. Meanwhile, guests swam in the pool and enjoyed a light lunch before frocking up for the onsite ceremony.  The stand outs for us at this wedding were Justine’s positively toothsome Manolo Blahnik blue heels a…

Trends, style and fun. That is how I would sum up our blogging week at The Bride's Tree. In other news, we were also fortunate enough to attend a networking event, chock-a-block full of amazing Sunshine Coast wedding professionals. It was really a night to let loose and have a bit of fun. We expected nothing less from larrikan organiser, DJ Lee Bevington.  It just goes to show how many beautiful weddings are successfully pulled off every single week on the Sunshine Coast. Our local wedding industry really is like a well-oiled machine! Take a look at some news coverage…

Photo of the Week

8th March 2013

If this doesn’t brighten your day, nothing will. Just take a moment to “ahhh” with us over this picture-perfect scene. A beautiful newlywed couple, a stunningly gorgeous Sunshine Coast beach, and some really funky styling with a personalised freestanding doorway draped in vines. Ah.May.Zing.  If this was the only photograph you ended up with from your wedding day, I’m sure it would be enough. However knowing Greg Gardner Photography, this lucky couple would have had plenty of equally as gorgeous images and spoiled for choice as to which ones to display. Hmm… I feel the need to come up with…

Upstyles for Brunette Brides

7th March 2013

Last week we brought you a fine selection of bridal upstyles for blondes, so today we thought we had better do the brunette brides a solid and show you some gorgeous styles for our dark-haired beauties as well.  There is nothing more elegant than glossy locks expertly curled, twisted, braided and pinned atop a bride’s crown for her wedding day. Whether it be a high structured bun, a low chignon, or some cascading curls pulled to the side for a striking asymmetrical style, each of these pretty bridal hair styles has their place in a Sunshine Coast wedding. We love…

Confetti – A Shower of Love

6th March 2013

Guest blog post by Carrie and Emily from A Darling Affair. Over at A Darling Affair we’re gearing up for our first event of the year – The Celebration Fair. All of our planning has us in a party mood and nothing says party and excitement like CONFETTI! We reflected on the invention of confetti and found that it originates with the tradition of showering newly weds in things such as rice as they leave their wedding ceremony. Indeed an expression of LOVE as it represents showering the bride and groom in well wishes for their life together. Continuing our series…
