Emily loves Zach | Sunshine Coast Backyard Wedding

emily-zach-2016-442

Emily and Zach met at a friend’s gig. One year later they were engaged, and after seven short months of careful planning, they kicked off forever in a ceremony at Buderim’s Wirreanda Park. Their idea was to have their wedding feel like an enchanted garden setting, which this particular park in the southern end of the Sunshine Coast lends itself to just perfectly.

After their heartfelt vows, the couple took their large bridal party of ten for a sweet photo shoot on a friend’s private property with views of rolling hills and ultimate seclusion. Their 60 guests then joined them for a catered reception with homey satisfying meal of roast lamb and baked veges to add to the family backyard wedding atmosphere of the large white farm house.

Take a gander at these magical images, taken by lovefromluff of Emily and Zach’s truly lovely Sunshine Coast Backyard Wedding.

We achieved this by incorporating lots of greenery, timber, natural lighting and pops of gold.”emily-zach-2016-206“Our favourite part of the day was being able to declare not just our love for each other but our intentions for our marriage through our own vows that were written in honesty and vulnerability.”12emily-zach-2016-223“We allowed the natural environment to do most of the work for us and added simple touches of colour and timber.”emily-zach-2016-263emily-zach-2016-269emily-zach-2016-326 “At the end of the day, this day is about a celebration between you and your husband. The planning and styling of your wedding can become your main priority when preparing for your day (especially if you’re a perfectionist like me), but truthfully, all you are going to remember on that day is the joy you felt when you became one with the person you were created to be with.”emily-zach-2016-357emily-zach-2016-360emily-zach-2016-375emily-zach-2016-379emily-zach-2016-392“We had a mentor of ours, Shane, speak at our wedding. The venue was an important part of this, we chose places based on the feeling of being encompassed by nature.”emily-zach-2016-430emily-zach-2016-534emily-zach-2016-542emily-zach-2016-544

Wedding Secrets

Biggest splurge: We didn’t splurge too much, probably either the photography or the wedding dress but even those weren’t too much!

Best money-saver: The venues; having our ceremony at a park meant that we just had to pay a small council fee and the family that owned the private property were generous enough to allow us to have our reception there for no cost.

Bridal gown: Made With Love Bridal, Mia dress, $1480

Accessories: Forever New

Shoes: Novo

Bridesmaid dresses: Popcherry

Bridesmaids’ accessories: Forever New

Groom’s and groomsmen’s suits and shoes: YD and David Jones

Rings: Prouds the Jewellers

DIY: Our wedding was mostly DIY. The reason for this was not just to save money but so that our wedding felt more personal. Both Zachary and I are creative and therefore enjoyed creating the intimate details that made up our wedding. We did the graphic design, ceremony benches and arbour, candle holders for reception table, bouquets and jukebox.

Honeymoon: New Zealand

Number of guests: 60

Wedding budget: $13,000

Who paid: Mostly us, with a major contribution of the bride’s family.emily-zach-2016-438private-property-wedding-sunshine-coast-_-emily-and-zachary_2“Through our faith we are able to be honest and vulnerable with each other. Our faith keeps us stable in the waves of uncertainty that is life, assured that through it all we will remain by each other’s side.”emily-zach-2016-450“Our reception was a private property that is owned by close friends of ours. This made our day special as it was a place that we already had a personal connection to; a place where we felt comfortable.”emily-zach-2016-548 “Our wedding favours were small jars of honey; friends of ours have their own beehives and harvest their own honey. It is delicious and we wanted to share it with our closest friends and family!”emily-zach-2016-550Photographer: lovefromluff | Florist: Vintage Flower Box | Caterer: Home and Away Catering | Cake: Katelyn Park | Makeup Artist: Sally Townsend Makeup Artistry | Hair Stylist: bySARAHJANE | Rentals: Confetti Events | Stationery Supplier: Zazzle | Gift registry: Myer Bridal and Gift Registry | Officiant: Bob Rogers | Wedding Night Accommodation: AirBNB
