Shell Pink Wedding Inspiration

28th January 2014

Soft pink is a popular colour for wedding day styling. And the great thing about this colour is it is so very versatile. Usually when you think pink, you might conjure up images of so much sweetness you end up with a toothache. Well we can assure you, including soft or shell pink in your wedding theme can be just sweet and girly enough, without having that overwhelmingly pink feel.  //// See with this subtle colour, it’s great to team it with neutral or basic colours that blend, rather than contrast. For example, ivory rather than stark white will go…

Horses at Weddings

5th November 2013

Being Melbourne Cup Day, we thought some marvellous horsey weddings would put us all in the spirit. It’s really quite magical to include your trusty stead and best friend in your wedding. And there are many wedding venues on the Sunshine Coast where you can do just that. They certainly make for some seriously stunning wedding photos.  Above two images by Willow and Sage Photography //// Above image: Emma Nayler Photographer Above image by Jennifer Oliphant Photographer Above image by Boots Photography   Above collage by Boots Photography . 1950’s Vintage-style Sunshine Beach Wedding

13th October 2013

Good day to you, lovely Sunshine Coast brides! It delights me to kick off this beautiful Monday morning with an absolutely gorgeous Sunshine Beach wedding. Hands-down, the star of this wedding is, as it should be, the bride, Kelly. She absolutely shines with her 1950’s-inspired hair and makeup with a contemporary twist.  //// The other shining brilliance is the photography, so wonderfully captured by one of our all-time favourite Sunshine Coast wedding photographers,  Andrea Sproxton Photography. These are some of the most gorgeous photos we have ever featured on The Bride’s Tree; we are extremely excited to share them with…

Engaged: Matt and Danae in Maroochydore

15th July 2013

Matt needed a little convincing that having his photo taken was not in fact like going to the dentist. He’s not alone, many grooms-to-be have this concern in the lead up to the most photographed day of their life. That’s one reason why having an engagement shoot is a great idea. It’s an opportunity to have smiling and posing practice, and to get comfortable with the way your photographer works. This will undoubtedly result in better photos on your wedding day. And in the meantime, you get fabulous photos with your honey! These can even be used for your wedding…

Photo of the Week

12th July 2013

Jess and Sean are the subjects of today’s Photo of the Week. An honour bestowed upon few Sunshine Coast brides and grooms, and certainly I’m sure they will be well chuffed to discover they have been the chosen ones today. However, I’m sure this in no way compares to the excitement they had when they received their engagement shoot session photos back from their wedding photographer, Andrea Sproxton Photography. I mean, seriously, how much would you die of happiness for having this on your wall? This photo was taken at Coolum Beach, just one of our stunning local beaches.

I’d say our photo of the week is pretty as a picture, but it’s actually prettier than that. I’m sure you’ll all agree, this photo is like life itself. It jumps off the page, well, off the screen. You feel like you could just reach out and touch it, and be in this intimate moment between a new husband and wife.  We have the talents of the lovely Deb from Boots Photography to thank for this gorgeous work. Thanks Deb, and Happy Saturday, lovely Sunshine Coast brides!

Chambers Island Wedding

29th May 2013

In a low key beach wedding as relaxed as they are, Katreena and Shannon were married with 90 of their closest family and friends bearing witness and having a fabulous time while they were at it. Starting their day at Point Cartwright in a wedding ceremony on the beach including a water sharing ceremony, which symbolises the linking of lives with each other and the changing of tides and ocean.  Their wedding day included a frantic search for some missing rings they are still unsure whether or not should be blamed on the groom or the best man, but to…

Photo of the Week

17th May 2013

Oh. My. Goodness. Is this not one of the sweetest photos you have ever seen in all your time?! I just adore this little girl with her look of concentration, helping out her Grandma with her necklace! She’s the cutest little mite! And you can see her efforts are really appreciated by her proud Gran, too.  This beautiful photo of the week was captured by one of our firm favourites, Emma Nayler Photographer. Now just last week, Emma launched a beautiful new website. If you have not yet seen it, make sure you head on over for a peek at…

Buderim Waterfall Trash the Dress

9th May 2013

Having a Trash the Dress shoot is a fabulous reason to get back into your beautiful wedding dress, and the Sunshine Coast has so many stunning locations to have such a shoot. Take for example Buderim Forest Park, with its majestic waterfall. It is a truly pristine piece of this world, and a perfect location for a trash the dress shoot.  Now of course the word “trash” doesn’t sound terribly nice, and you certainly don’t have to come away from the shoot with your beloved gown in tatters. However, if you’re willing to rough it a little, you can end…
