Weekly Round Up

4th May 2013

Sometimes it just amazes me how much beauty I am exposed to day in and day out. I'd love to say this is because the reflection looking back at me is amazing, but as I have a young child and I work from home… let's just say some days the hair situation is a sight to behold! No of course, it's the beauty that comes my way each and every day in the form of inspiring weddings on the Sunshine Coast, and all of the work being done by Sunshine Coast wedding professionals.  Take for example a few of our…

Surprise Backyard Wedding

30th April 2013

Something we have noticed cropping up more and more lately is the surprise backyard wedding. All the guests arrive, thinking they are turning up for a birthday party or engagement party, while it actually turns out to be the wedding itself! I even attended one such wedding myself just a couple of weeks ago in Coorory. It was really lovely and laid back, and just what this particular low key couple wanted.  Many brides and grooms are choosing to do it their own way, but make still it special and beautiful by getting a professional planner and stylist on board,…

Weekly Round Up

27th April 2013

It was a special week for everybody in Australia this week, as we celebrated ANZAC Day. For our international visitors, I'll explain. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and April 25 is the day each year that we celebrate our military veterans. Those who fell, while protecting our country and fighting for our freedom, and those who continue to serve our country today at war, in peace-keeping missions, and providing aide to other countries. It is also the anniversary of the landing in Gallipolli in 1915. Typically the day starts with thousands of Dawn Services held around…

Who could forget those gorgeous electric blue shoes Carrie Bradshaw wore when she became Mrs Big/Preston? Those gorgeous little morsels kicked off a trend of brides having brightly coloured shoes with their white gowns. Weekly Round Up

20th April 2013

We learnt a little something new this week from Sunshine Coast wedding industry veterans from Maleny Manor. Apparently, some brides forego the traditional bouquet toss for all the single ladies to scramble for in favour of another custom. They give their bouquet to the longest married couple in the room, and then ask said couple to share their best advice with the newlyweds! What a fabulous idea! If we didn't follow Maleny Manor on Facebook, we may not have been so fortunate to learn this!  So, what else is new? We're glad you have asked. From now on, each Sunday…

Just in case you missed it…

See what the winning caption was here.  And on the blog…  We kicked off the week with the prettiest of Maleny weddings. Then shared our Q&A with an awesome Sunshine Coast wedding DJ. Some industry friends of ours uncovered the meanings of different types of flowers you may choose for your wedding day floral…

Flowery Speech

9th April 2013

Some brides pick their flowers by colours, others by scent, but if you’re a poet at heart, choose your flowers by meaning. Build your bouquets and centrepieces into a love letter to your fiance, your friends and family. The universal symbol for romance is a red rose, but in actuality, they symbolise passion, along with carnations, coral roses and tulips, according to our blog contributor today, Simply Bridal. So many pretty flowers, so much to learn!  The beautiful bouquet in the thumbnail image above is by Sunshine Coast wedding florist, Twig & Blossom.
