Emilie + Ben’s Noosa North Shore Wedding

A chance meeting at a local surf club here on the Sunshine Coast lead to happily ever after for Victorian Emilie and Queenslander, Ben. Her trip to Queensland yielded much more than she bargained for, and she ended up moving interstate just a few months later.

When it came to their wedding day, Emilie and Ben wanted nothing more than to have all their family and friends in one place for a few days to enjoy each others’ company in a relaxed atmosphere. Noosa North Shore Retreat provided the perfect rustic setting with both the beach and the bush, and made for some really fun bridal party photos when the large group trekked out in gum boots and all.

Bride, Emilie, says her Noosa North Shore Wedding was so much fun and such a perfect reflection of her and her now husband as a couple, she would do it all again.

It made the day so much more relaxed and easy.” Matt Rowe Photography-421 Matt Rowe Photography-479 Matt Rowe Photography-594  “We went bush! The photographers had found the perfect location that suited our theme. It was in the bushland of the property of our wedding venue so it was super easy and all close together”Matt Rowe Photography-605 Matt Rowe Photography-613 Matt Rowe Photography-643 “We had a massive bridal party with six each! I had my sister, sister in-law, cousin and three best friends. Ben had his brother and five of his best mates. We couldn’t choose between this special bunch so it was all of them or none of them.”Matt Rowe Photography-660 Matt Rowe Photography-675 Matt Rowe Photography-701 Matt Rowe Photography-708 Matt Rowe Photography-712  “We are complete opposites. Somehow this makes us work perfectly together and it certainly keeps the relationship interesting!”Matt Rowe Photography-714Matt Rowe Photography-752  “We loved that every thing about the wedding was the very picture of us. The day was so relaxed.”Matt Rowe Photography-765Matt Rowe Photography-773  “Bens biggest priority was the music so he was in charge of organising that and my biggest priority was the venue. I wanted it to be somewhere where all of the guests could stay at the same place for the entire weekend as most of them were travelling from interstate and some from overseas. We wanted the opportunity to spend time with everyone and have a fun few days.”Matt Rowe Photography-775 Matt Rowe Photography-780 Matt Rowe Photography-781

Wedding Secrets

Biggest splurge: For the wedding day itself, we spent the most on our photographers, Matt and Amanda Rowe. They were amazing on the day having to deal with our massive bridal party and the photos turned out perfect.

Best bargain: My wonderful friend, Sally, who was our celebrant not only offered her services for free but also organised the best wedding cake ever as our wedding gift. She made our ceremony perfect and the cake was to die for. It was wheels of cheese!

Earrings: Diva, $20

Shoes: Betts Shoes, $90

Groom and groomsmen’s suits and shoes: Roger David, $400 + $250

DIY: Vintage props – suitcases, ladders, books, jars, bottles and crates; name tags, menus, and coat hangers.

Honeymoon: Thailand

Wedding budget: $25,000

Matt Rowe Photography-801  “We loved having our dog involved in the ceremony, having cheese instead of a traditional wedding cake, wearing gum boots for our wedding photos, thongs available on the dance floor for the girls who wanted to kick off their heels, Ben incorporating his love of AFL… I want to get married again!”Matt Rowe Photography-809 Matt Rowe Photography-831  “We literally booked everything in the first 6 weeks of being engaged. We wanted the whole process to be stress free so we got it all done as quick as possible so then I could just focus on all the fun stuff such as the decorations.”Matt Rowe Photography-835Matt Rowe Photography-796
