Sophie loves Chris | Maison La Plage Wedding

Bride Sophie looked every bit the epitome of the Noosa bride in her custom-made gown made by Carniel Vanden Bergh couture on her wedding day to Chris.

Our girl had it all going on from start to finish, actually. Her and her bride squad were all decked out in bright white satin pjs that glowed against the perfectly blue sky. Ah, Noosa – you really pulled out all the stops for this wedding day! The weather was exactly what you’d dream of for any Noosa wedding day, that’s for certain.

Sophie’s mum and five bridesmaids were by her side for the wedding day morning prior to the ceremony at Maison La Plage decorated to perfection by Splash Events. The girls-only rule was broken with the inclusion of her gorgeous Cocker-spaniel, Pablo. We all know nobody can upstage the bride on her big day, but Pablo gave it a red hot go, the gorgeous little guy!

While we’re loving seeing all the colour on trend in the wedding industry at the moment, a white wedding in Noosa will always hit diffrerent. Sophie says planning her wedding could have its challenging moments – especially when it came to the endless emails back and forth with vendors, and paying off the wedding that may have gone a little over budget (point me towards a wedding that hasn’t gone over budget, am I right?!), but the day was a success. She’s married to the love of her life, and it was – as the dreams of every little girl promise – the best day of her life.

What were the most emotional moments of the day, and those you’ll never forget?

The most emotional moments were Chris seeing me walk down the aisle and crying, our first kiss, and the speeches. Aside from a picture perfect day, the love we felt for each other that day is something I’ll never forget.

Why did you decide to marry this wonderful person?

I can be my absolute self when I am around him, and I knew that we would share a life together that would be full of love, passion, kindness and laughter and be each other’s best friends.

Do you have any advice for other couples planning their weddings?

Look after your mental health! It can be stressful. Breathe. And soak up every minute of your wedding day because it goes so fast- but it will be the best day of your life!!!

What were your wedding planning priorities?

Trying to keep costs down. Not to stress over too many things. That it wouldn’t rain! Haha. And that our reception met our expectations which it did! Bistro C was amazing.

Why did you choose to be married in Noosa?

We have both loved Noosa since we were kids, and being in Noosa always makes us feel happy. Getting married with the ocean behind us, was just magical.

Which songs did you use for the big moments of the wedding day?

Walked down the aisle to “can’t help falling in love” by Kina Grannis. One more time by daft punk for entrance. Dreams by Fleetwood Mac for first dance, as this was the song we first danced to in the early stages of seeing each other.
