How to Style Boho Blooms

1st April 2020

Earthy, neutral tones, laced with romantic luscious blooms, and accented with edgy dried florals. This is exactly how to style your blooms in a modern boho style.

Sarah Luthy, owner and floral styling genius behind Gwen Floral Co. was the floral designer on our most recent magazine shoot. When planning our modern boho styled shoot, we knew Sarah’s bespoke, romantic style would be perfectly suited to this shoot.

Modern Boho Style

Style-wise, we gave Sarah the brief of a modern and edgy boho theme that would also be wildly romantic and elegant. Sarah used earthy and dried elements combined with beautiful fresh florals to create an unexpected combination, along with rich burgundy and dried neutral-toned foliages rather than green varieties. Dried florals are very on trend right now, and bring in an edgy feel.

Hanging Installation

The hanging installation featured rambling foliage branches, striking dried palms and grasses, and carefully placed florals, all working together to enhance the beautiful space under the tipi.

The Bouquet

Sarah said of the bouquet, “We love designing unique one-of-a-kind bouquets that are truly a piece of art! We love utilising depth and dimension in our designs – every single flower has been carefully designed into the bouquet so that every bloom has its own place to shine. The bouquet was luscious and abundant in florals with relatively minimal foliage and textures to complement the carefully placed blooms.”

Colour Palette

Fresh whites and neutral tones were seamlessly paired with soft blush, dusty rose and some deep burgundy accents. The stunning orchids, premium roses and dried textures were the stars of the show, complemented by a careful selection of blooms.
