Real Wedding: Anna and Ben in Witta

13th February 2014

Anna and Ben’s romance began in the workplace. He was the head chef and she the manager of the restaurant, where they both worked. Their love blossomed over the next four years before they became engaged. Anna, now a teacher, planned the entire wedding over the next 12 months with lots of help from her devoted family along the way.  One heart-melting moment from their Witta church ceremony was when Anna’s father walked her down the aisle, and then married the pair in his capacity as a Pastor. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their 65 guests kicked on for…

3rd September 2013

Rrrrrruff! Row-row-roww… that was the sound of your best friend’s little heart breaking when he discovered he wasn’t invited to your Sunshine Coast wedding. You wouldn’t leave your child at home on your special day, right? Then why leave the pug? Including a fuzzy pal requires a bit of planning, so SimplyBridal has gone ahead and done the brainstorming for you. Consider these super suggestions and you are set! Plus, lookee how cute! Thumbnail images of a cute-as-a-button rottweiler at his mum and dad’s wedding by Alan Hughes Photography. He loves puppy dogs at weddings, and we love him for that!…

Engaged in the Bush

3rd July 2013

Kylie and Darren commissioned their wedding photographer, Sunshine Coast fave, Alan Hughes Photography, to take some pre-wedding photos that reflected their personalities. Being country people through and through, it made perfect sense to have an engagement photo session out in the bush, where they would feel right at home.  This pair were more than happy trekking through long grass, sometimes way above their heads! Darren is in Land Management and Kylie is a Nutritionist, so they are at one with nature – not so much for our Alan, who was quite pleased the country folk were there to forge the…

Photo of the Week

25th January 2013

Once again, we are more than impressed by the incredible photographic skills of the incomparable Alan Hughes Photography. He says of his Photo of the Week, “Not all bride and grooms let me push them out in a boat with no oars at midday during their wedding… but Andrea & Daniel did.” Awesome! This is one Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, who should make your short list! He always gets the money shot! Happy Australia Day, lovely Sunshine Coast brides! If you are with us on this side of the globe, we hope you are celebrating in true Aussie fashion with…

Photo of the Week

22nd December 2012

Today will be our last Photo of the Week for the year, and it is oh-my-goodness divine! Alan Hughes Photography has hit us once again with all kinds of awesome. This photo was taken on a rainy afternoon at a Noosa wedding, just proving that rain on your wedding day is far from the end of the world. If it weren’t for this shower, this couple would not have such an incredibly stunning image. Oh okay, well yes it is photographer Alan Hughes we are talking about, so they would have had something equally as stunning without a doubt, but the…

Love and laughter. It's all you need on your wedding day to end up with beautiful photos like this one by awesome Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, Alan Hughes. Hey, let's face it, it's all you need on your wedding day. Period.  I adore this moment between this couple so very much, it's simply what love should be. It's what a marriage should be – two people connected by something understood only by them. The rest of us are in the dark as to what is transpiring between the two in this moment, but you can see that in each other's…

Just in case you missed it…

10th November 2012

It has been yet another beautiful week on the Sunshine Coast, which is without a doubt living up to its name. It is no wonder this is the most popular time of year to be married here. The sun has been shining, our beaches are sparkling with white sand and blue waters, air is so clear, the view from the hinterland is endless.  We have also had a wonderful week at The Bride's Tree HQ, as we have found ourselves terribly inspired by all of the amazing Sunshine Coast wedding professionals once again.  Monday we kicked off with one of…

Yellow and Blue-grey Wedding Colour Palette

4th November 2012

Wedding prettiness comes in many different forms, and sometimes in an interesting colour palette. I am totally loving sick the colour combination in this wedding. Tones of yellow and blue-grey work in the most splendid way for a wedding colour theme. The pretty bright yellow flowers, lemon bridesmaid dresses, matched with the groom and groomsmens' suits go together like peas and carrots, and create a perfect mix of feminine and masculine. The yellow and blue wedding theme works perfectly for a Sunshine Coast beach wedding, as you will see in the stunningly gorgeous photographs below. Photos which of course can only be…

Photo of the Week

25th May 2012

This Noosa wedding photo is really unique and lovely. Of course it's by one of our favourite Sunshine Coast wedding photographers, Alan Hughes. The building itself with the old school ice-cream stand striped awning sets a great scene for the intimate kiss between the newlyweds. And if the cute couple aren't enough to put a smile on your face, there's always the reminder that ice-cream makes you happy! Now, if you would like to meet the taker of this pretty picture here, you simply must pop along to the It's My Wedding Expo at Maroochy RSL tomorrow from 10:00am to…
