Blank Canvas Reception Venue

21st April 2015

As a writer, I love a blank page. That moment before I start typing, before I even know where my fingers hovering above the keyboard will take me is my favourite. I take a deep breath, sometimes pause a moment, and then something happens – my mind clicks in, and it all starts coming out. Sometimes in small parts, sometimes it starts with one idea or concept and grows. Sometimes is floods uncontrollably, and I need to take a moment to gather myself and organise my waves of thoughts crashing into my consciousness.  This is why I love Maleny Retreat….

Venue Review: The Lakehouse

22nd March 2015

The Sunshine Coast’s newest absolute waterfront purpose-built wedding venue is centrally located at Brightwater, overlooking the lake. Inside, the décor promotes warmth and stylish nautical opulence. Inside The Lakehouse you will find beautiful interior styling, which has two key elements – stag heads and antlers, and a hint of the nautical. The little touches, like oars and a cow hide rug beside the fireplace in the welcome area give you an instant feeling of warmth.  There are two gorgeous ceremony locations on site, making this venue perfect for those couples wanting a carefree wedding day, where everyone can relax from…

Venue Review: Weddings at Tiffany’s

10th February 2015

Straight up, I’m pretty sure anybody who visits Maleny wedding venue, Weddings at Tiffany’s, will look no further for their dream wedding venue. It is so ridiculously perfect it’s not even funny.  On site is a gorgeous non-denominational chapel, which sits in the perfect position to take in panoramic views of the Glasshouse Mountains. A huge wall of windows looking out at that priceless view creates the altar backdrop. I particularly love this feature of Tiffany’s, because it has that outdoors-in feeling, giving you the best of both worlds without the risk of your hair being blown about or drizzle putting…

Real Wedding: Anjela + Brad’s Twin Waters Wedding

12th January 2015

The thing I love about Matt Rowe Photography is that no matter how many weddings we see come out of any popular Sunshine Coast wedding venue, he always finds a unique angle. Believe me, we cannot say the same of every wedding photographer, and that gift is invaluable.  Anjela and Brad were so taken with Matt’s talents, they commissioned him to capture their big day at Novotel Twin Waters Resort. The venue was chosen with the idea of having a destination wedding weekend away, so all their family and friends could spend some time together, getting to know one another. They particularly…

Fun and Fancy Flower Girl Dresses

11th January 2015

There is a special kind of joy in seeing pretty little flowergirls at a wedding. Mostly because you can see the unbridled joy in their faces at being part of the occasion, being pampered and all dressed up in their finest attire. They look up at the bride and know they have never seen anyone more beautiful, and hope one day they will look as beautiful on their own wedding day.  Then they look down and see their own fun and fancy frock, and can’t believe they actually own something so beautiful. They can’t believe they can actually feel this…
