Wedding Cake of the Week

We have a brand new "of the week" for you today, my lovely Sunshine Coast brides! As our title here suggest, it's all about cakes for the next several Sundays. Ooh, delicious!

Our very first wedding Cake of the Week is brought to us by Sunny Girl Cakes. The lovely Skye, Miss Sunny Girl herself, created this gorgeous blue and white tiered ruffle cake. The bride, Mindy, loved the effect the unstructured layers made, and we quite agree it looks incredible! Almost too good to eat!

The top two tiers are white chocolate mud cake covered in white chocolate ganache made with white Lindt chocolate. The bottom tier is chocolate mud cake made with dark Callebaut chocolate covered with delicious chocolate ganache. The cake is then finished with strips of sugar paste icing, which has a lovely subtle sweet flavour. Mindy and her now husband, John, chose to serve their cake as the dessert at their Sunshine Beach wedding, held at Coconut Grove.
