Real Wedding: Kieran + Sam in Maleny

28th January 2015

When Keiran and Sam blew out their wedding budget, Sam decided to cut costs by styling their reception herself in an impressive DIY feat. She bought all the flowers from the local farmers market, and fashioned up some sweet hessian table runners and centrepieces befitting of the gorgeous marquee wedding they had planned in the heart of the Sunshine Coast hinterland at Maleny Retreat.  The very talented Roy Byrne Photographer was there to capture all of the special moments. And let me tell you, there were many.  “For me marriage was uniting us as a family, we have 3 beautiful children & have…

Real Wedding: Teyha & Shaun in Maleny

30th November 2014

Teyha and Shaun’s day was all about them, but with the comfort and enjoyment of their guests as topmost priority. The first decision they made to accommodate their 65 guests was to choose Maleny Manor as their venue, knowing this would mean no travelling between ceremony and reception locations, as the Manor has a perfectly positioned pavillion with stunning hinterland views, especially for the wedding ceremony. You gotta love that.  We quite love the special ways the happy couple made the day their own. One such personal touch was to have a “first look” or “reveal” photo shoot prior to…

Amanda sent Nate a kiss online and one year later they had their first kiss as husband and wife. When love strikes, there’s no holding back. And by their own account, they were made for each other.  60 of their family and friends joined them at Maleny Manor for their dream wedding, which they planned together  from top to bottom, relishing in every last detail, and getting their DIY on with projects, which included melting wax, manipulating chicken wire and sanding their little hearts out.  Their special day came together gloriously, and Karen Buckle was there to capture each and…

Bridget and Jordan made the sweetest Maleny bride and groom. Their wedding had a timeless simple elegance about it. And it sounds like Bridget and her mother and sister had an awful lot of fun on various crafternoons in the lead up to create some DIY prettiness for the big day.  This lovely Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding was held exactly four years to the day after the couple’s first date in North Queensland, where they were both working at the time. It is not difficult to see how much they adore one another and belong together. Just take a stroll…

Vintage Garden Wedding Inspiration

26th June 2014

A perfect day. A perfect location. The perfect team of Sunshine Coast wedding professionals on hand to create something truly beautiful.  Romantic, pretty vintage with a Victorian-style double-ended couch in a toothsome blue-grey, an extension of the perfect clear blue sky.  //// This styled shoot has been lovingly photographed by someone who I would describe as a true artist and perfectionist. I am of course referring to Sunshine Coast wedding photographer, Matt Rowe Photography. And oh boy, did his eye go a-wandering over some spectacular sights at Maleny Botanic Gardens. The gardens themselves are meticulously maintained and delightfully designed, but…
