What a Darling Affair!

27th August 2013

Recently we attended A Darling Affair‘s wedding fair at The Woombye Chapel. It was a gorgeous sunny day on the Sunshine Coast, which, just quietly, we are quite accustomed to in these parts of late. It was yet another spectacular winter’s day, and brides and grooms from all over took a lovely Sunday drive to be with us at the cutest location, perfect for the vintage and handmade affair.  Many thanks to the lovely Deb from Boots Photography, who took these beautiful photos for us at the fair to share with you all a little bit of loveliness from the…

Behind the Scenes Styled Shoot Film

5th August 2013

As you all undoubtedly know, we put out our latest free online magazine last week, which features a styled shoot we are going nuts for. Coconuts! Like on a tropical island, because this is as close to a tropical island wedding you can have here on the Sunshine Coast.  There are pineapples, cocktails, a beach campfire, bongos and a guitar in the sand, and a Kombi. Oh, did I mention it is also retro-themed like a 1960’s Hawaiain Beach Resort destination wedding? Yah-huh! I know, almost too much awesome!  We were lucky enough to have the amazing team from Jasper &…

The Giving and Receiving

19th June 2013

Guest blog post by Carrie from A Darling Affair. Each month the ladies will showcase specialties from their “Darling” vendors. This months theme is: flowers! Flowers are one of our all time favourite things to do with getting married here at A Darling Affair. I was able to have a real sentimental attachment to my own bouquet as I made it myself and had foliage from my Grandmother’s garden in it. I used to dream about the day I would get married as a little girl and make little bouquets. That dream came true for me. I also had the opportunity to make…

Confetti – A Shower of Love

6th March 2013

Guest blog post by Carrie and Emily from A Darling Affair. Over at A Darling Affair we’re gearing up for our first event of the year – The Celebration Fair. All of our planning has us in a party mood and nothing says party and excitement like CONFETTI! We reflected on the invention of confetti and found that it originates with the tradition of showering newly weds in things such as rice as they leave their wedding ceremony. Indeed an expression of LOVE as it represents showering the bride and groom in well wishes for their life together. Continuing our series…

That special touch

27th January 2013

Guest blog post by Carrie and Emily from A Darling Affair. Each month the ladies will showcase specialties from their “Darling” vendors. This months theme is: bridesmaids Sometimes the giving of things or the finer details or effort means a lot more than when someone actually speaks the words “I love you”. We like people to have an “experience” when people come to our fairs. Making it personal helps others to see how much you care for them. Some people are better are creating things or giving things than expressing their verbal feelings. A gift from the heart. Asking your besties to…
