Lavender and Old Lace Styled Shoot

10th April 2013

The inspiration for this styled bridal photo shoot in Peachester is the beautiful, blooming Jacaranda Tree. Popular for its prettiness of lavender leaves littering the ground below, the Jacaranda Tree at this Peachester wedding venue, Mango Hill Farm, has attracted many a bride to its canopy.  This shoot actually featured in Volume 4 of The Bride’s Tree free online magazine, however we couldn’t fit in all of the gorgeous images by Marion Jonkers Photography that we would have liked to. So we are sharing them with you now, my pretties! We are not a selfish mob, we would not keep such splendour to…

The Prettiest of Maleny Wedding Days

7th April 2013

Heath broke the golden rule. It’s an honour code amongst mates – do not date your mate’s sister. Actually, Heath and Emily were great friends and joined at the hip, even before they started dating, so Emily’s big brother didn’t seem to mind too much.  Seven is the lucky number for this pretty pair – they were dating for seven months before Heath popped the question, and then they spent a further seven months planning their Maleny wedding. Well… Emily planned the wedding, anyway. Heath was more than happy to hand over the reigns, so the theme was left up…

Venue Review: House of Laurels

House of Laurels is a wedding reception venue, ceremony venue and luxury accommodation all in one. There is plenty of space available in the main house and guest houses for many, if not all of your bridal party and wedding guests.  There is an innate romantic feel to the venue, the lavish rooms boast fifteen foot ceilings elegantly lit with antique chandeliers, marble spa bathrooms and French doors opening up to the veranda that leads to perfumed manicured gardens.  Wedding ceremonies can be held in the beautiful gardens, while a marquee and pavillion reception allows you plenty of space to entertain…

Venue Review: Vue de Lumieres

9th January 2013

Vue de Lumieres is French for “View of Lights”, which is quite fitting for this Maleny wedding venue, as it boasts the most stunning views to Moreton Island and vistas from Bribie Island to Maroochydore. Located beside Balomoral Lookout, one of the highest points on the Blackall Range, Vue de Lumieres has large private hedge lined gardens, and away from the hustle and bustle, in the charm of your own marquee, this is an ideal location for your dream day. For your ceremony, you have the choice of many pretty spots, including the chapel pergola. No matter your choice, all…

Art Deco-Inspired Wedding in Maleny

21st October 2012

Melissa and Ricky first met at a Christmas party in London… then again at Glastonbury Festival six months later… then 12 months after the festival they actually started dating. Talk about a courtship! Despite this, they say one of the things that makes them work as a couple is that they are both spontaneous (who’d have thunk it!), and that they both love live music and travel. They certainly have a special relationship, and their strong love was clear to all on their Maleny wedding day. Both their ceremony and reception were held at  House of Laurels, which is not…
