Flight of Fantasy

16th June 2013

We are more than a little bit in love with the latest range from Sunshine Coast-based Shut the Front Door, creator of bespoke wedding fascinators and bridal accessories. The ‘Flight of Fantasy‘ range certainly has us feeling like we have taken off to a whimsical world of almost unspeakable beauty. I said almost… so let’s now speak of it.  The finest silks, Swarovski crystals, French laces with unique individual embellishments are combined to create thoughtful hand-crafted designs. All of the items in this collection are hand made to order, and Heidi, the clever lady behind these little pieces of heaven…

Yellow, Grey and White Cake

14th May 2013

A colour scheme we absolutely adore is yellow, grey and white. It’s pretty, but has the perfect combination of feminine and masculine when executed right. Such as with this gorgeous wedding cake, created by the scrummiest lady around, Skye from Sunny Girl Cakes. Just going to show, your colour theme can be followed through to even your wedding cake with subtlety. Being that your wedding cake is the centrepiece to your wedding, the culmination of the celebration that is your joining in marriage with the love of your life, you want to get it right and make an impact. This…

Buderim Waterfall Trash the Dress

9th May 2013

Having a Trash the Dress shoot is a fabulous reason to get back into your beautiful wedding dress, and the Sunshine Coast has so many stunning locations to have such a shoot. Take for example Buderim Forest Park, with its majestic waterfall. It is a truly pristine piece of this world, and a perfect location for a trash the dress shoot.  Now of course the word “trash” doesn’t sound terribly nice, and you certainly don’t have to come away from the shoot with your beloved gown in tatters. However, if you’re willing to rough it a little, you can end…

UK Couple Married at Yandina Station

28th April 2013

Dan and Melika travelled all the way from London to have their wedding day in Queensland, Australia… in the rain! Who would believe it! However, they never let it dampen their day for a moment, even saying the rain added a certain touch of magic to their special day.  Wanting to give their international guests a unique wedding to remember, they chose cattle station wedding venue, Yandina Station to hold their beautiful wedding for 101 guests. Yandina Station is beautifully maintained with luxury cottage accommodation, but also has a rad rustic old barn to hold wedding receptions in. This really…

Photo of the Week

12th April 2013

An Australian bush wedding… how divine! There is something truly magical about eucalyptus trees at twilight. They tend to conjure up images of Australian bush fairies laying in wait to start frolicking and dancing the moment the sun goes down.  This bride certainly appears to be quite like the queen of the bush fairies. So very beautiful! Today’s photo of the week appeals to the little Aussie girls in us, and we simply adore the beauty of the photograph by Nicky Stone – Photographer at a Noosa North Shore Wedding.  Happy Saturday, lovely Sunshine Coast brides!

Orange florals! Love them. LOVE them. They are fresh, they are funky, they go beautifully with these tangerine-coloured bridesmaid dresses. I adore how the bouquet by Sunshine Coast florist, Willow Bud, is very much a structured posy with traditional roses, but also with a wildflower feel. Just gorgeous!  The photo itself is also obviously stunningly gorgeous, which is why it is our photo of the week by Sunshine Coast photographer, A Look Photography.
