The Wedding that Inspired the Photographer’s Lover

20th August 2013

Today we have an oh-so-sweet guest blogger in our midst. The lovely Kari, a wonderful Sunshine Coast wedding celebrant, has written about an experience that touched her heart. Kari seems to attract the most amazing couples to marry! Images by Luke Going Photography. On the exact eighth anniversary of the first kiss, Anna and Ivan were wed in an intimate wedding ceremony with just their close friends and family by their sides.  In fact most of them were staying with them in the expansive home, looking out over Baroon Pocket Dam in Montville. But it is what this wedding inspired,…

Real Wedding: Laura & Zac in Doonan

11th August 2013

Whoever said blue and green should never be seen did not foresee the pretty that can be enjoyed by lush greenery against a classic navy. This was the colour theme for Laura and Zac’s elegant Sunshine Coast hinterland wedding with an edgy twist we are loving on in a crazy way.  The couple kept with tradition in a Catholic church wedding in Tewantin, followed by a marquee wedding reception in Doonan at the bride’s parents’ home. Quite the extravagant backyard wedding for only 220-odd guests! To keep costs down, the bride organised a lot of DIY, and enlisted the help…

Engaged: Jonny & Liisa in Montville

22nd July 2013

After having had family photos taken with their two young children last year by Renee Towers Photography, upon getting engaged Jonny and Liisa thought of but one person to shoot their engagement shoot and wedding. As a family, they enjoy picnics in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and so this was the obvious choice for setting for their shoot. As young parents, taking some time out for themselves with a photo shoot was a beautiful way to celebrate their love and engagement. They started at the park, then nearby they found some funky rustic sheds and got all funky about things…

Eco Wedding Styling

18th July 2013

Eco styling is a wedding trend we are lusting after in a big, bad lustful manner. Okay, that may be a little over the top, but we really, really like it a whole awful lot! It’s about nature, and taking the raw unique elements it has to offer and constructing them in a beautifully assembled tablescape. We love the colours Splash Events have used in this theme. They have allowed the colours, understated floral arrangements, succulents and impressive twig centrepiece to take centrestage by complementing them with simple white dinnerware and clear wine glasses. A rustic feeling is brought into the mix…

Engaged: Matt and Danae in Maroochydore

15th July 2013

Matt needed a little convincing that having his photo taken was not in fact like going to the dentist. He’s not alone, many grooms-to-be have this concern in the lead up to the most photographed day of their life. That’s one reason why having an engagement shoot is a great idea. It’s an opportunity to have smiling and posing practice, and to get comfortable with the way your photographer works. This will undoubtedly result in better photos on your wedding day. And in the meantime, you get fabulous photos with your honey! These can even be used for your wedding…

Photo of the Week

12th July 2013

Jess and Sean are the subjects of today’s Photo of the Week. An honour bestowed upon few Sunshine Coast brides and grooms, and certainly I’m sure they will be well chuffed to discover they have been the chosen ones today. However, I’m sure this in no way compares to the excitement they had when they received their engagement shoot session photos back from their wedding photographer, Andrea Sproxton Photography. I mean, seriously, how much would you die of happiness for having this on your wall? This photo was taken at Coolum Beach, just one of our stunning local beaches.
