Styled Shoot: Flowers by the Waterfront

18th February 2015

Oh how we adore this romantic, whimsical wedding styling inspiration. The location for this styled shoot was Noosa Waterfront Restaurant & Bar, and what we find most delightful about this Noosa wedding venue is that it’s entirely possible to have a pretty garden wedding and an absolute waterfront wedding in one.  The soft pastel florals by Buderim Floral Art perfectly complement the location and the amazing concept styling by Sunshine Coast boutique wedding styling and planning agency, Lovebird Weddings.  It’s no secret we are big fans of Karen Buckle Photography here at The Bride’s Tree, and with these amazing…

Engaged: Andrea & Dwayne at Currimundi Lake

26th January 2015

Active Sunshine Coast couple, Andrea and Dwayne, wanted their love story captured in a way that would speak to the true essence of them as a couple. A bike ride, a spot of fishing and a frolick on the beach at Currimundi Lake was just the ticket for their engagement shoot with Tara Lee Photography.  It’s all very sweet, but what strikes me most is how happily in love this gorgeous pair evidently are.  //// Next March, Andrea and Dwayne will be saying their I Dos at AnnaBella The Wedding Chapel, and following it up with a Pelican Waters reception…

Real Wedding: Emma and Jacob in Noosa and Ilkley

18th January 2015

The best of both worlds – a chapel wedding in the country, followed by gorgeous Noosa beach bridal party photos at Little Cove, and a marquee reception at a private Noosa residence. I have to say, that sounds really quite a perfect wedding day!  Emma and Jacob planned a gorgeous affair from top to bottom, with stacks of DIY details and a country feel that we are just mad for. Raving mad to be precise. Their ceremony took place at AnnaBella, The Wedding Chapel, in Ilkley after a 12-month engagement, during which family and friends pitched in to help make…

Real Wedding: Anjela + Brad’s Twin Waters Wedding

12th January 2015

The thing I love about Matt Rowe Photography is that no matter how many weddings we see come out of any popular Sunshine Coast wedding venue, he always finds a unique angle. Believe me, we cannot say the same of every wedding photographer, and that gift is invaluable.  Anjela and Brad were so taken with Matt’s talents, they commissioned him to capture their big day at Novotel Twin Waters Resort. The venue was chosen with the idea of having a destination wedding weekend away, so all their family and friends could spend some time together, getting to know one another. They particularly…

Fun and Fancy Flower Girl Dresses

11th January 2015

There is a special kind of joy in seeing pretty little flowergirls at a wedding. Mostly because you can see the unbridled joy in their faces at being part of the occasion, being pampered and all dressed up in their finest attire. They look up at the bride and know they have never seen anyone more beautiful, and hope one day they will look as beautiful on their own wedding day.  Then they look down and see their own fun and fancy frock, and can’t believe they actually own something so beautiful. They can’t believe they can actually feel this…

Styled Shoot: Egyptian Bridal Inspiration

15th December 2014

Well this is more than a little exciting. We have never seen anything like this inspirational styled bridal shoot, it is so very unique. A bunch of uber talented Sunshine Coast wedding professionals got together to create an Egyptian-inspired bridal shoot!  From the dress to the accessories and makeup by the talented Tasleema Nigh, it’s a glamourous Cleopatra-esque look we are loving like crazy. The bouquet by Ginger Lily & Rose Floral Studio screams opulence, as you would expect of an Egyptian goddess, with an oversized statement bloom and peacock feathers. Please feel free to drool over these images by Bonnie Jenkins, as we…

She rode into his life and he loved her

7th December 2014

When it rained on Lauren and Derek’s Woodford wedding day, it became clear to one wedding goer that a do-over was in store. That goer, and frankly go-getter, was Deb from Boots Photography. Getting dreamy, romantic shots of this beautiful couple with sunshine and their beloved horse was an absolute necessity as far as Deb was concerned. And so, a bridal session post-wedding was concepted. Lauren and Derek donned their wedding attire once more. Their Ma and Pa’s private Sunshine Coast hinterland farm was the location for the shoot, and included delightful elements of a floral wreath hairpiece, and vintage…

Wedding Trend: Table of Flowers

4th December 2014

Lots of flowers in many and varying vases and bowls makes a seriously impressive centrepiece for your wedding reception. Guests will enjoy mingling amongst it, and it can give a sense of grandeur without even being terribly expensive. Here are some tips to successfully pull off this floral wedding trend.  Pick a Colour Theme We love the fresh white and lush green look, but you can also utilise colour. Just make sure you have chosen colours that blend well and that will be represented fairly evenly across the whole table. Work in Tiers Basically, the tallest blooms should be at…

Real Wedding: Teyha & Shaun in Maleny

30th November 2014

Teyha and Shaun’s day was all about them, but with the comfort and enjoyment of their guests as topmost priority. The first decision they made to accommodate their 65 guests was to choose Maleny Manor as their venue, knowing this would mean no travelling between ceremony and reception locations, as the Manor has a perfectly positioned pavillion with stunning hinterland views, especially for the wedding ceremony. You gotta love that.  We quite love the special ways the happy couple made the day their own. One such personal touch was to have a “first look” or “reveal” photo shoot prior to…

Real Wedding: Amy & Joe at Pt. Cartwright

26th November 2014

Amy says she fell in love with Joe at first sight. It was certainly was a fateful weekend away from Kingaroy for Joe to Amy’s hometown of Toowoomba. Who knew he would meet his future wife?  Eight years later Amy married Joe in a blush pink bridal gown at beautiful Point Cartwright beach with 90 of their family and friends in tow. It was an overcast day with showers, but it didn’t dampen the happy couple’s spirits at all. In fact Amy says the cloud cover made for amazing photos and she’s grateful for her wedding day weather.  Said perfect…
